WOOD SURROUND for Audio Technica AT120; Technics 1200 and Technics 1210
Yogiboy, That's a really useful summary for anyone in the market.  Kudos to you for posting.  My opinion is that Technics have willfully created a marketing nightmare.  There are significant differences among those many versions of the SL1200/1210...

Definition of "deionized water": Deionized water is free of cations (positively charged mineral ions) and anions (negatively charged mineral ions). Some examples of cations are calcium and magnesium, sodium and iron, while sulfates, carbonates and...
Still looking for a new Moving Coil Cartridge
"MC carts have fundamental problem of coil wire' affecting moving part resonance etc. that’s why MC carts typically require higher tracking pressure, which is no good for diamond needle etc."  I am not a big fan of low cost MC cartridges, either, ...

WOOD SURROUND for Audio Technica AT120; Technics 1200 and Technics 1210
The wood surrounds are about the same cost as a new AT120. Does that make any sense for owners of an AT120?
Feickert Volare + Shick 9 + Hana Umami Red
Cost is not necessarily a guideline to sound quality in any aspect of this hobby. Try to audition a couple of different phono stages before making your decision.
Discuss The Viv Lab Rigid Arm
Here is the URL for a discussion of the Viv Float that took place on Audiokarma starting in 2015.  I don't necessarily agree with all comments, but a few guys have some interesting ideas.  Some other guys don't. https://audiokarma.org/forums/inde...
Discuss The Viv Lab Rigid Arm
I found a very interesting discussion of the Viv Float on Audiokarma, dating to 2015. Some of the discussants seem very knowledgeable and brought up many additional pros and cons. Worth reading for an interested party. I’ll post the URL here.
Phono Stage, Tonearm, Cartridge Question - Which is the most important?
ghdprentice and any others, The question was to rank TT, tonearm, and Cartridge in order of importance for max SQ.  And I find myself agreeing with Jason Bourne.
Discuss The Viv Lab Rigid Arm
So I ask again, why are you so angry, Raul? This is a hobby. I bought a tonearm and reported on its sound quality here in a thread that is supposed to be about that very same tonearm. Take it or leave it. Meantime, I am having fun with it. You tri...
Phono Stage, Tonearm, Cartridge Question - Which is the most important?
Within the past two weeks there was another thread on this same subject, with similar very serious inconclusive responses. Why not search the archives? Cartridge>tonearm>TT, with high marks to the phono stage.
Have you asked yourself this question?
The other night, I sampled one half of a gummy bear that someone gave me, just to see if it would do anything.  Then I settled in to listen to LPs. Although the music was utterly sublime, I soon realized that I was in no condition to perform the m...
Still looking for a new Moving Coil Cartridge
I hope my comment about using a spherical stylus because it’s safest for LPs was taken as facetious. That was the intent.

Mahler, as another physician, I don’t disagree with the message of your anecdote as it applies to sub specialists in medicine, but I don’t think the analogy to the OP’s situation is a good one. The OP is not in contact with any competent audio gen...

What Dogberry said. And really, I don’t care what anyone else chooses or why they might choose or have already chosen to do it. No one is hurt by these decisions.
