@notlistening - Indeed! Most of those covers on those Rick Rubin- produced Johnny Cash albums sound like they were written for him! My favorite might be 'The Mercy Seat', which is great whether Nick or Johnny sang it. That would be a good cover, '...

@ozzy - actually, Arthur Brown had quite a good career with his prog-rock band, Kingdom Come and he's done a bit since then, too. Kingdom Come's 'Journey' is a progressive rock masterpiece....

@phantom_av - Nobody is 'forced' to do anything. I see negative reviews of gear on YouTube reviews all the time. What will make people stop paying any attention to reviewers is if they always say everything is great - people buy something a review... 
Does carpet deaden the sound too much?
Carpet certainly absorbs sound (as does plush furniture, etc), but absorbs 'life' out of it? I guess that's pretty subjective. I've always had wall-to-wall carpets and ain't no shortage of life coming out of my speakers, unless there's a shortage ...
