Genesis
@tomcarr - and their first album was called 'From Genesis to Revelation', so there ya go!
Rick Derringer R.I.P
@buellrider97 - yes, so sad to see that. I was at that Day on the Green headlined by the Winter Bros with Rick (I was at a LOT of DoG's); got some great photos from up close, too. Loved Rick's work with Johnny Winter And....

How large (or small) is the audiophile market?
@tomcy6 - true, but are there any print publications  whose subscriber base is not shrinking? They are not much of a thing anymore. I remember when most of the people in my apartment building would get the daily paper delivered. Now I'm the only o...
Cartridge Upgrade Recommendations
I've had cartridges for many decades, and except for one stupid accident recently, have never damaged one or needed on replaced. Just a reasonable amount of care (which I did not take the other day) will protect these 'fragile' instruments from da...
...they're back....
@saugertiesbob - This thread is 'Music', not audio gear.
Cartridge Upgrade Recommendations
I would concur with Jason Bourne - I just got a Hana Red (around $4K) a few days ago to replace a damaged Clearaudio Charisma MM, and it's just what my system needed. It needs over 100 hours to fully break-in, but even right out of the box it's th...
Hana Umami Red review
Very informative thread; I just got a Hana Red yesterday for my Technics SL-1200G to replace a Clearaudio Charisma II MM cart that had a mishap. I've just been playing a record with it with the sound off but I'll start listening to it today, knowi...
Sigur Ros - Best Recordings?
@baylinor + 1 - I saw Sigur Ros a number of times when they were first touring the US; wonderful band so reminiscent in feel to the 'Krautrock' music scene (Tangerine Dream, Faust, Neu, etc) of the early-mid 70's. Very atmospheric, and when they b...
Y'all gettin' an early start for all the big sales this weekend!
I've not been able to determine how to put a photo on a post, and not just a link - how is it done?
livestream concerts
@petaluman - a Moonalice fan - yeah!! Before the pandemic, they used to play one Wednesday during each summer month in Union Square, and I live about 2 blocks from there! They'd play from 6 - 8 pm, and they'd almost always bring along the maze of ...
livestream concerts
Ah, but this wouldn't apply if you're just looking for shows that are currently going on while you're watching. I put those there because they WERE live streams at one point in the past..
livestream concerts
There's a great Bay Area jam/Grateful Dead style band called Moonalice, and they record every show (and that's a lot of shows) on audio and video available to watch on their website; here's the link to the 2025 shows, but they've got them for ever...
Genesis
@bzawa - That's great that you checked out Strange Days, and I'm glad you enjoyed them. They put out that one album of 6 songs, and then disappeared; the keyboard player is/was in the Glitter Band (post Gary) but the others seem to have vanished w...
