Steamer upgrade? Follow up follow up
@bikeboy52 Another follow up…I wonder how much of that giddiness is being fueled by bottomless eggnog cocktails 😊
Audionet HUMBOLDT Integrated Amp Review WOW !...
Audionet makes incredible sounding gear, hopefully I get to hear this and other fine offerings when I visit HighEnd Munich Show in 2023.
Boulder 2160 vs Dan D'Agostino S250MxV
Given those two amps and speakers, in-home audition is a must! I wouldn’t buy blind or based on the opinions here. The dealer carrying these lines should be more than willing to facilitate home audition.
Streamer upgrade? follow up.
@charles1dad  I couldn’t agree with you more! I believe it’s the mindset that if I use Node as a transport to transmit bits then a more expensive streamer won’t matter 😊
Streamer upgrade? follow up.
“I am happy to try an Aurender and am not afraid of spending $ for value” @ianrmack If that’s the case, why not borrow N200 or N150 from your local dealer and listen, compare in your own system. Wouldn’t an audition in your system be easier way ...
SOtM dCBL-CAT8M - Is this the new reference in LAN cables?
@yoby  I appreciate the feedback and I am glad to be of help. You’re spot on with your assessment on dCBL-CAT7.  I used to own this fine cable and had similar experience with my Apple router.  @dabel  Thanks for weighing in and it certainly fee...
Why are so many people spending so much money to build “perfect” streaming system?
@dmader48 Thanks for sharing your inspiring journey from conventional playback to streaming. Anything is possible when you keep an open mind!
Why are so many people spending so much money to build “perfect” streaming system?
+1, @deadhead1000 on Bluesound Node recommendation, a de-facto standard for many physical media hard core aficionados.
Audiophile Switch with Clock?
“would adding such a device yield an audible improvement?” @pdurham2  The only sure way to know is by auditioning one in your system. You do have a very nice system to decipher subtle changes from tweaks like Ethernet switch and/or passive noise ...
Are measurements the end all, be all?
“For me specifications do matter to me. I am interested in a speakers sensitivity and impedance characteristic, the frequency range as well as the guts. (cabinet design, drivers, crossover components etc... However what I most important to me is h...
Convincing your local dealer to let you try speakers at home
Same here, never had any problems with dealers to audition gear at my home. As a courtesy, I let them know upfront that I don’t buy anything unless I’ve had the opportunity to audition the gear in my system. This way you are not wasting each other...
New DAC or New Streamer?
@jerryg123  Among the few I’ve auditioned, my recommendation would be to try Network Acoustics ENO or MUON (for higher performance). The market is flooded with noise filtering devices but ENO and MUON passive filters does more than addressing the...
The revolution has begun!
@bigtwin  Thanks for laughs. I needed this as we prepare for winter freeze down in South!
New DAC or New Streamer?
@sns Well said! I will go one step further…without network optimization, you’re not hearing full potential of your streamer or server. It is so vital to clean up the Ethernet signal from your modem or router before it enters your streamer/server...
Has anyone tried the new Synergistic Research UEF Performance Enhancer - Ethernet Filter?
@rauliruegas  I've not tried them in my system so I can't speak to their effectiveness. It appears UEF Performance Enhancer is a filter designed for your Ethernet chain that said to lower your system’s noise floor. Take that for what it's worth!
