Network Switches
@david_ten Thanks for the info. I was looking forward to the review of SW-8 but after learning about reviewer pedestrian streaming setup, I honestly don’t care what he says. No wonder he’s sour on cloud based streaming in his main rig…LOL! On a...
Aurender N20 Streamer & Holo May DAC vs Analog
“if you can find a streamer with a ROON core” There lies your rub @recherche ….so many variables with finding a one box ROON solution without the complexities of a science project or paying top dollars. Streamers from Aurender, Innuos, Lumin and...
Do I need a streamer?
@mahler123  You make a good argument to not pursue a dedicated streamer. However, there are many here who were in OP position and believed what they heard sounded great until they made a switch to dedicated streamer and freely acknowledged the im...
Share Experiences with Ethernet Switches, Ethernet Cables and USB Cables used in Streaming
@tjassoc You’re welcome! The products from Network Acoustics are of very high quality and you’re very likely to appreciate them in your amazing system. Good luck.
Aurender N20 Streamer & Holo May DAC vs Analog
@vonhelmholtz  I just looked at your system and it’s well balanced as far as your choice of components. Before you go chasing another DAC, let’s look at optimizing your digital setup. I used to own separates including the N20, expect my PM shortl...
Room correction room system vs ears….
“On the front wall (behind speakers), diffusors tend to work much better than absorbers” +1, @thyname  That’s been my experience as well. I have a combination of diffusers and absorbers strategically installed in my room.
Share Experiences with Ethernet Switches, Ethernet Cables and USB Cables used in Streaming
“Ethernet cable, Ethernet Switch, Ethernet Filters and the USB cable” I suggest search and read up here, there has been so many discussions on these items and how they improve streaming experience in addition to having a high quality streamer /se...
Why do so many sellers take offense to offers on their listings?
@mitch2 Exactly! My first shipment of Tannoy’s got damaged. I was quite shocked to see the inadequacies in the packaging on a $30K speaker. The dealer end up replacing the damaged pair.
Why do so many sellers take offense to offers on their listings?
@secretguy  I would insist on freight shipping if you are dealing with floor standing speakers with cardboard packaging. Unless they are in wooden crates, they are unlikely to survive FedEx / UPS delivery.
Why do so many sellers take offense to offers on their listings?
I don’t get offended by any offers, instead I respond by stating the lowest price acceptable to me. I am usually in no hurry to sell so i don’t get discouraged by not getting any digs on my sale items, sometimes for months.
Streamer Upgrade Bluesound Node To Aurender N10
@blisshifi Good to know there is a work around albeit not an ideal solution! That’s probably why Aurender don’t recommend Wi-Fi as an option :-)
Streamer Upgrade Bluesound Node To Aurender N10
@mahler123  Good point, not only wired Ethernet improves sound; the Aurender won’t work with Wi-Fi. It need a wired Ethernet connection either directly from router or mesh network.
Streamer? Aurender's "caching streaming" ? how important is this feature?
@blisshifi  Thank you 🙏
Looking at best option for 20-25k for DAC Streamer combo
In your price range, check out Grimm Audio MU1 and AQUA Formula xHD + LinQ. I am currently using Merging Technologies +player ($14K). The +player is a Ethernet based DAC plus Roon Player and Core (no external server needed for Core) offers modular...
Streamer? Aurender's "caching streaming" ? how important is this feature?
@blisshifi  May I know if Aurender is still supporting N100 or N10 (both discontinued) as far as future software upgrades?  @audiocanada  If you can’t fork money for N150 then N100 would be a nice upgrade over Node.
