the best, cost-no-object, music streamer? The Sooloos is an extensible system including storage, distribution and rendering. You can get all three in one box (controlled by an iPad app) or you can get a multiple zone, multiple storage system with multiple dedicated touch-screen controllers.

High quality AC turntable motor Some years back, I designed/built a little sine/cosine generator based on the B-B 4423 chip. Long discontinued but old stock can sometimes be found. If interested, you can see the datasheet here: http://www.icmaster.com/PartDetails.aspx?Part=144094...
Hook up Plasma TV to Audio system Also, probably, the DAC will have to support DolbyDigital, not just PCM.
Wiring confusion with JL sub and components Simple answer. 1. The manufacturer of the integrated amp has not chosen to accommodate a sub as an option because his market analysis told him that it was not cost effective.2. The manufacturer of the subwoofer has not chosen to accommodate speake...
Wiring confusion with JL sub and components Surely, someone makes an inexpensive buffer/line driver these days. All it takes is a chip or two with connectors. Easy for DIY but I could not find one assembled from a quick Google except for car audio (http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop/Co...
sub with two sources - can processor control gain? Yes, it can control the gain on the sub as part of the calibration but there is a definite possibility that the gain setting selected for the 2 channel rig will put the sub beyond the processor's adjustment range. That will depend on the relative ...
Office partitions as sound panels "Really good speaker placement" is undeniably essential but it cannot fix the acoustical problems of a room with unfortunate dimensions and inappropriate surfaces (lack of absorption/diffusion). You just make the best of a bad situation.
Office partitions as sound panels I want to point out that (1) 3" is not sufficient for a bass trap, depending on the construction/materials, (I use 6" OC705 and tuned traps) and (2) the plastic foam used by Auralex is less efficient than is packed mineral wool (fiberglas, OC 703,...
Office partitions as sound panels Those 1" Auralex panels are effective for high-frequencies and will have an audible consequence. However, much thicker panels are needed to extend the absorption into the midrange or lower. An excess of thin panels can make a room sound dead witho...
Office partitions as sound panels Good suggestion. Thicker is better.
Office partitions as sound panels Limited to high frequencies in all liklihood but dependent on the specific panel, of course.
Any info about Altec stereo console Altec, like Bozak and others, produced equipment cabinets to match their speaker cabinets. Most came empty and the user could populate them as he wanted.
Can I make a sub from two three-ways? Probably not. Few so-called full range speakers have adequate low frequency extension, linearity and power to function as a sub. You may get some more bass and like it but, at the very least, you will need to add/build/buy appropriate crossovers. |
