LP stores in Portland, Maine
Last time I was there, about 7 years ago, most of the local shops that I had visited earlier had disappeared.  I recall only one, at that time and there was little classical. ☹

Unusual Old School Way of Wiring Speakers
It generally requires having a special added driver in each speaker.  It was developed by Bob Carver and marketed, to this day, by Polk.  See https://www.polkaudio.com/en-us/product/floor-standing-towers/l800/ .
HDMI cables for I2S
All the standard HDMI cables are compatible.  That is why the users of I2S chose it.  The issue of compatibility comes into consideration in terms of the devices at either end of the cable.  There are several standards for those and one must insur...
Topping Pre90 Switching op amps?
If you want the sound of the pre90 without the hassle, then the Benchmark LA4 is the best bet. True but the price differential was unacceptable.  (I needed 3, now 4.) Nota bene:  The OP was asking about swapping op-amps in the Pre90, not amps ...
exaSound s82 DSD512 Stereo Streaming DAC?
It is listed as Class A but I did the review.
exaSound s82 DSD512 Stereo Streaming DAC?
Sure.  Why does that matter?
exaSound s82 DSD512 Stereo Streaming DAC?
I am guessing that it is the 2-channel version of the s88 (Mk. II) that I own and reviewed.   See: https://www.stereophile.com/content/exasound-s88-multichannel-da-processor
Hint:  Change your Wi-Fi frequency to avoid interference with neighbors router
Maybe the real solution is for audiphiles to buy homes on 30 acres of land? In most cases, switching to wired ethernet will be cheaper. 😉
Can a set of Ls50 metas surpass or equal a set of Kef blade metas with subwoofers
l researched the blades and stereophile said the UNI Q module was crossed over at 300 if l read correctly.. The blades crossover from the woofers at 300hz based on measurements. Kef claims 350hz. Those are, I believe, all in reference to the...
Audioquest Vodka vs Wireworld Starlight 8 (Not Platinum) Ethernet
Yeah but it’s still using fiber to kill noise — same principle.  ---------------------------------------------------------------------- In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.  (Yogi Berra)
Audioquest Vodka vs Wireworld Starlight 8 (Not Platinum) Ethernet
OK, OK.  I'll drop out now.  I was just looking for a different type of discussion.
Audioquest Vodka vs Wireworld Starlight 8 (Not Platinum) Ethernet
jjss49 posted the video in response to "And how is FMC better than ethernet cable?"  It did not deal with the question of how FMC is better than ethernet cable; it merely showed how to do it. As for the popularity of the Sonore Optical Rendu, it ...
Audioquest Vodka vs Wireworld Starlight 8 (Not Platinum) Ethernet
This video is a "how to" but does not demonstrate or prove that inserting the FMC link does anything useful.  The speaker refers to "analog noise" but does not demonstrate or prove that such noise, which may exist, has any audible or measureable e...
Roon? does it offer subwoofer output volume control?
I will assume that the SVS is connected to the line or speaker outputs of the Hegel.  If so, no upstream device can control the SVS.  Roon can only control it if the SVS is connected to it, not to an amp.
