Are there any DACs with a subwoofer output?
Not that I know of. I would be surprised if such existed today. There are older processor/DACs that will do it. In fact, I have a Technic SH-AC500D in one of my closets that will serve.Kal
external crossover recommendations
Why prior to the preamp? How will you control volume for all channels that way? Usually, the crossover is in or after the preamp. Also, what are you connecting up?Kal
Coax Digital compared to seperate 5.1 for movies.
No answer, of course, unless you reveal what you are connecting with those cables.Kal
5.1 vs 7.1
How many recordings/movies do you have with 7.1 tracks on them?Kal
Integra 9.8 troubles
One more time: The prepro cannnot select a surround setting. You must select the proper track with the player and you must define the processing for each format on each input in the 9.8 menu. Kal
Integra 9.8 troubles
You have to select the appropriate sound track from the disc menu. Otherwise, you get the default, whatever that is; apparently stereo. The display on the 9.8 shows what it is receiving and then the 9.8 can redistribute it as set in the input menu.Kal
Why can't my 32" Sony LCD show component out?
This should certainly work. I can only suggest the obvious: Is the resolution selected in the player suitable for the display?Kal
HDMI Audio Quality vs Optical/Digital/Analogue
Coax digital has wider bandwidth than the original TOSlink interfaces would permit but TOSlink has been improved to its equal today. Kal
DTS HD Master & Dolby True HD set up
02-07-09: Kennyt: Kal, Why?Because the 2500 was originally marketed as a transport to connect to processors that could decode the HD codecs and to differentiate it from the 3800.Kal
Is Audyssey worth it?
I know. Most are.Kal
Is there a consensus as to blu ray sound quality?
Good for you, it will help. Kal
why does the bass change on my velodyne dls-5000
Can you restate the two conditions? I am not certain what you are comparing.Kal
Is Audyssey worth it?
Your equipment is fine, as described, but the value of Audyssey is correction for room acoustics. If yours are perfect, you don't need it (or similar). The rest of us do. ;-)Kal
Is there a consensus as to blu ray sound quality?
Why not? Because, aside from realizing the multichannel aspects of these older recordings, we are asymptotically close to hearing all they have and, also, because no new medium will survive without new content.Kal (bored with most reissues)
Redefining "Universal Player"
How about LP? Kal
