What's your best audio "find" 1. Radio Shack "Fusion" cables (precursor to Auvio's mentioned above), loose on rack with paper tag for $14.95 - that was only about half price, but they sound better to me than all the other ICs I have on hand, some costing 20x more.2. My brother...
Monitors to replace EPOS M-16i Will be interested in what you think.
Can back surrounds smear the front image? Pmcneil,Agreed.
Monitors to replace EPOS M-16i Ja2austintx,Funny Afranta mentions Dynaudios because in noting where you are from, I was going to suggest you go take a listen. I believe you still have a good Dynaudio dealer in Austin - I listened to and fell in love with a Rega table/PrimaLuna ...
Monitors to replace EPOS M-16i I also have a 640Cv2 CDP. It is a detail champ with a fairly flat frequency response for the money, but benefits from good synergy with other gear. I listened to my player with some excellent Moon electronics, Dynaudio Contour speakers and Shunyat...

B&W's objective opinions lean or accurate I have listened to the 1c, 2ce Sig. and the 7's more carefully, the 3A Sig., quatro and 5's briefly. I have liked every pair I have listened to in various systems and listening spaces, and have to say the 7's are a "Statement Audio Product". Peopl...
The Next Step - what would you do? Your A/B/C/D-in-your-home idea is terrific and the best (only?) way to really evaluate gear IMHO.With all I said above, the Thiel CS1.6's are hard to knock, very accurate but a little bass shy. Often however, honesty in music reproduction can get ...
Small-ish Speakers That Come Alive At Low Volume I would also look at the PSB Platinum M2 which can be purchased new for about $1200 right now.
The Next Step - what would you do? I would go with the different speakers. It is not just a matter of efficiency or power. It is a matter of what sounds like "music". The ProAc's and Spender's sound more musical to me than Thiels, and I believe would mate with the Pass electronics ...
B&W's objective opinions lean or accurate If you can swing the cost differential, the Vandersteen Quatro Wood has a slightly different profile, but similar delivery to the 3A. The 2ce Signature is also very good and slightly smaller than the 3A. |
