Has anyone heard the Audioquest Dragonfly? Johnnyb53, thanks for your threads on the AQ Dragonfly. I just got one and am enjoying it in my office system - clearly better sound than the sound card in my computer. Has me thinking of upgrades all along the line. In your thread you note that t...
Has anybody tried Sounds Heavenly cables? Follow up: standard RCA cable is no great shakes. Worth the $26 paid but not more. Compares favorably to my budget favorite RS Auvio interconnect, but not Audioquest Diamondback.
Music Matters 7 - Seattle Sarcher30, thanks for the info on the ARC pre. I missed the ViennaAyre/Transparent room, and am sorry now that I did. How long has Definitive been carrying Vienna Acoustics?

Smallish floorstander that sounds good placed just Arros are very good - strengths are imaging and tone. They were designed to sound good placed near the wall, which will give you more bass response and weaker imaging, but if anything, makes the excellent tone stand out even more. Tuning with mass...
Help using integrated as power amp Alternative, buy a used NAD c272 and see what that does for you. Rainmakers well powerd can have some very strong bass. Trading the 747 for one of the bigger NAD receivers or one from another mark could also help. Adding a subwoofer to an underpow...
Are CD players dead Reports of the death of redbook cd's are premature.CD's will survive for quite a while in the market space between availability, cost and convenience. By title, CD sales still reign supreme, correct? That will not last forever, but I regularly use...
B&W 805 or Monitor Audio Silver for Creek 5350SE? Fair enough, glad you are enjoying the RS6 - Creek combination.
Does 'Accuracy' Matter or exist ? All this talk about venue has me thinking about some recent concerts/live events I have attended recently. At the symphony mid-way back on the floor I found myself saying "huh, this sounds ok but I had trouble relating the instruments notes with t...
Does 'Accuracy' Matter or exist ? From Wikipedia:"In the fields of science, engineering, industry and statistics, the accuracy of a measurement system is the degree of closeness of measurements of a quantity to its actual (true) value. The precision of a measurement system, also c...
Does 'Accuracy' Matter or exist ? I think the op has a good point. Perhaps in this business from the perspective of the final listener or equipment reviewer "accuracy" has little value. "Detail" (as in the amount of sonic information or 'bits' revealed), "tone" (as in tone relatio... |
