What's better, one conductor or two conductors for an RCA interconnect?
@jumia   At one RCA connector shield and negative/return wire are both soldered at the base of the connector while signal/positive wire is soldered to center pin.  On the other side only two wires are soldered while shield is left unconnected/floa...
Billie or Ella? Maria or Renata? Technique or feeling?
kijanki -- I actually saw Jimmy Scott perform live, probably at Dante's in Hollywood. A real treat! That would be my dream.  Unfortunately, he passed away. In 1967 my brother had 2 inexpensive tickets for Rolling Stones concert.  I declined an...

Sarah or Ella?  At first I like Sarah more for more interesting way of singing - vocalizing, suspending timing etc., but at the end Ella won me over with her immaculate timing and swing (discipline).  It is all matter of acquired taste, for instan...

@atmasphere AFAIK we should write symbols of units named after person with capital unit letter V, kV, A, kA, kHz, kW etc. but spelled out units with lowercase : volts, amperes, ohms, watts.  Multiplier doesn't change that, so it will be kilovolts,...
Audio stops pain
@serjio Why did I write this? Because it is my personal opinion.  Bad sound is as annoying to me as bad music, but I feel relaxed when music is beautiful and sound is great.

If the current goes the other way, one side sees the impedance of the amplifier. The other (ground) sees the the impedance of the amplifier, but also sees a parasitic path through through that ground and out to "somewhere". Now you have a differe...

I would think it might be good assumption, but I'm not sure about tube amps.  It would be better to ask tube amp experts like atmasphere. @atmasphere Ralph, could you chime in?  Does limitting low end allow to play louder?  I know that with some ...

Sound of bad system IS the cause of pain and migraines, while sound of good system takes them away - choose wisely.
Good cassette player?
I remember much better treble extension in AIWA deck equipped with HX-Pro (bias servo), but it was only for recording.

@russ69   I would assume that this would concatenate filters affecting not only attenuation, but also the slope dB/octave, unless filters are very far off crossover points to remove, for instance, lowest frequency (high energy) from tube amp.  I s...

As I clearly said, from the speaker standpoint, the speaker itself is balanced, however, if you are considering noise on the speaker cables induced back into the amplifier, it most definitely is not balanced because the impedance on either cable ...
Helping friends/relatives with system purchases, your experience.
I wouldn't.  Not only that sound is very subjective, but also you might be engaged forever or even blamed when something goes wrong, or when they hear better sounding system in friends home (what a shame  :) ).  It is a little bit like recommendin...

Speaker by definition is balanced.  Noise currents induced in both wires cancel at the speakers, since there is no other return path.  If you question that, then perhaps you should read what Benchmark Media posted on their website in regarding to ...

Your speakers sensitivity is 83dB at 1W.  Sitting at 4m distance is equivalent to 12dB drop, but second speaker adds 3dB and room reflections another 3dB.  In the end it it will be 77dB loud at 1W, 87dB at 10W, 97dB at 100W.  It might a bit less d...

@deludedaudiophile So, you are not EE.  Well, I am - designing low level electronics for 40 years.  Sorry I cannot explain it to you better.  We agree to disagree.
