De-emphasis in DAC
AFAIK, the sole purpose of deemphasis was to reduce tape noise in analog recordings - almost never used today, since most of recordings are digital.  CD players have deemphasis built in and engage it automatically (CD contains deemphasis bit).
Class H vs nCore for multi channel to match Class AB front stage.
Class H means only, that supply rails switch between lower and higher voltage, based on the amplitude of the input signal, in order to lower power dissipation. Amplifier still operates in class AB. There might be some sonic penalty in class H, but...
Coax Digital Out -> XLR Digital Input cable?
XLR is a connector type, while AES/EBU (now known as AES3) is the name of digital standard (IEC 60958 type I) that uses 110ohm cable and XLR connector.
Coax Digital Out -> XLR Digital Input cable?
You need conversion device. S/Pdif and AES3 (balanced) have different input and output levels and also different characteristic impedance.  One is single ended while the other is differential. In the past I used Canare transformer, but it is limite...
Paralleled Transistors
Using multiple bipolar transistors allows not only to distribute temperature between them, but also to lower their collector current. It improves linearity since current gain of transistor drops at larger collector currents (beta droop). Putting t...
All about streaming
They were open to this option in 2017, but looks like it is still not available.  Tidal has HiFi option for "Master Quality" uncompressed music, but it doesn't cover all albums - only “Master Quality Authenticated Albums”.
Storage Device Recommendations
I don't see a reason for RAID since you need backup anyway.  I keep my CDs in ALAC on 1TB SSD:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YD5TK4F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1For backup I use:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078ST...
All about streaming
I have ability to stream either from my computer or Android based TV, but I prefer just to buy CDs. I know there are more expensive streaming plans to receive CD quality (16/44.1) stream.
The anachronistic CD Transport? And do I really need one.
I switched to server only when my last CDP failed (long time ago).  I use external computer CD reader to rip new CDs.  I can also play CDs directly in my DVD player connected to Benchmark DAC3 (high jitter suppression), but I never do - nothing be...
All about streaming
I doubt it.  Ethernet or WiFi deliver the same data.  Perhaps purchased mp3s have higher bitrate?
Optimize my MacBook pro
Your Briscati M1 DAC (if you still have it) is asynchronous, hence timing on the computer side makes no difference.   I would try to reduce injected electrical noise, by using USB cable without +5V and GND wires and possibly use USB isolator.  You...
BNC and USB from streamer to DAC
Asynchronous USB delivers just data - you cannot make it any better.  The only disadvantage  in comparison to S/Pdif is the amount of electrical noise injected into DAC, that can affect the sound.  When you have both cables connected USB should win.
Krell Class A/B power amps, do 'anticipator circuits' work?
Douglas Self stated that increasing bias often leads to increased distortions. He also measured it. The reason for that is changing transconductance. Transconductance is output current to driving voltage gain, that is rapidly changing when two tra...
Krell Class A/B power amps, do 'anticipator circuits' work?
It is possible to linearize, with the feedback, any amount of output non-linearities.  The difference between class A and AB is in the amount of feedback (tenfold).  Increasing bias without lowering negative feedback won't achieve anything.
10agw +10agw=7agw? need some big Banana's
levy03, I installed spades on mine.  Be careful - each cable consists of multiple insulated strands, but one of the strands is not solid.  It is stranded (many very thin strands).  I'm not sure why, and perhaps they changed design, but if you ever...
