McIntosh MC40 / Eico HF60
i do very little buying/selling of audio gear as opposed to some who fruitlessly switch components every week :) It's probably not worth it in my case.Any more information about either amp would be very much appreciated. BTW, thanks, Velo.

CD Burning: What Route Should I Go?
i wasn't specific enough before, but a stand alone burner (dual drive type) is the kind that does not hook up to a pc. those need "audio" cdrs. an external burner that hooks to a pc will, as sfar stated, burn on any disc.i also agree with Rlwainwr...
CD Burning: What Route Should I Go?
you shouldn't see any quality differencr b/t a computer burner and a stand alone.a problem w/ stand alone is that you need to use "audio" cdrs. these have a tiny bit of information on them that stand alone burners need to see in order to burn to t...
How many years before MP3 becomes king?

How many years before MP3 becomes king?
how can mp3s pass anything if they're made by by subtracting information from higher resolution files?mp3 is lossy. it produces a file that is smaller than the original because bits are thrown out. what i'm trying to say is that mp3s are always en...

Differences in Jolida JD-100's?
i also called jolida about the model number issue. They told me that there's only one jd100. he said he thought people started tacking the "A" on the end because a lot of their other products' model numbers end in letters. someone at jolida is pro...
I get a "clicking" on some of my burnt CD's, why?
It shouldn't be the cd rom.try Exact audio copy, burn at a low speed, somewhere around 4 or 8x, and you shouldn't have any problems.the cool thing about EAC is that if there are any errors in the extraction process it will tell you before you burn...

Thiel replacements
Exertfluffer, I agree with you when you say i have an "acoustically" larger room than 13X8 because of the opening in the wall where the left speaker is. The opening is 6' wide, and the speaker is more of less centered in it. The ceiling is 8'. The...
Thiel replacements
Thanks for all the good info so far, although it's not exactly what I wanted to hear.I moved the speakers apart another 1'+ and moved my seat back about another foot. It did seem to help a little, but its not there yet. Instruments that were befor...
Problem copying a CD
glad you got it figured out.EAC would have saved you a lot of trouble, though, as it can sometimes read a bad disc that can not be read by lesser burning programs. what it does is it reads the problematic spot over and over until it gets it right....
