Anyone modded Classe CA300?
In what way does damping the heatsinks change the sound? I have a CA-200 but I don't want to mess with it if I'm not sure what it will do... the amp is too mint to go sticking things to it :)
Woofer dust cap repair advice, HELP
I've seen a tweeter dust cap massaged out with a finger before. The guy rubbed around the dent and it popped out. The dust cap on your woofer is probably thicker...I have also heard of people using a vacuum cleaner. This can probably do more harm ...
Funniest sales pitch
"This ______ sounds as good or better than those costing 2 to 3 times this price."
Fluctuating volume in one channel
I feel better already knowing that it's probably not a major component that's damaged!Audiobugged, no, there has never been any hum prior to this. I did notice, however, that while the phenomenon was happening today, some static was coming from th...
Modded my Jolida 302a tonight, WOW
Sounds like you're pretty happy! I can't wait until someone replies with info on the remote controlled volume. I have an Anthem Pre 1L and can't stand getting up to change the volume!
PC on a PC
I am very interested in this subject because I burn a LOT of audio cds on my computer. Naturally I want the best possible sound. It makes me wonder, though. What exactly is going on when powercords are switched?I bet that any scientific proof will...
PC on a PC
Do you mean that if you burn 2 cds, each using a different power cord from the wall to the power supply, you notice a difference in sound between the two discs?
Dat to CDR?
if you have a digital in on your soundcard you should be good to go. then you can burn the discs on your g4 (that is a MAC, right?).I recommend using a computer based burner as you will be able to fully edit the music once its off the DAT. you can...

McIntosh MC40 / Eico HF60
i do very little buying/selling of audio gear as opposed to some who fruitlessly switch components every week :) It's probably not worth it in my case.Any more information about either amp would be very much appreciated. BTW, thanks, Velo.

CD Burning: What Route Should I Go?
i wasn't specific enough before, but a stand alone burner (dual drive type) is the kind that does not hook up to a pc. those need "audio" cdrs. an external burner that hooks to a pc will, as sfar stated, burn on any disc.i also agree with Rlwainwr...
CD Burning: What Route Should I Go?
you shouldn't see any quality differencr b/t a computer burner and a stand alone.a problem w/ stand alone is that you need to use "audio" cdrs. these have a tiny bit of information on them that stand alone burners need to see in order to burn to t...
