A not sarcastic question for the power conditioner/upgraded power cord folks @audphile1 I'm not trying to sell anyone on whether or not they should use a power conditioner. Ultimately, every individual audiophile has to find their own way. It's all good in the neighborhood. Happy listening.
A not sarcastic question for the power conditioner/upgraded power cord folks @audphile1 Over the years, during the course of my experimentation with power conditioners and power cables, on several occasions, I tried plugging my amps directly into the wall outlets (with and without upgraded aftermarket audiophile wall out...
A not sarcastic question for the power conditioner/upgraded power cord folks @audphile1 fyi.....No, the Audioquest Niagara 3000 power conditioner is not considered a power-limiting power conditioner; it is specifically designed to not limit current and even features: "Transient Power Correction" outlets that can provide a...
A not sarcastic question for the power conditioner/upgraded power cord folks @immatthewj I wouldn't advise you do that either. Based on my 25 years of experience and experimentation with high end power cables and power conditioners, I found that all things sound better plugged into, not just a power conditioner, but "th...
A not sarcastic question for the power conditioner/upgraded power cord folks @immatthewj Then perhaps you should consider going with a new power conditioner that's not hardwired, as it'll offer you more flexibility. Happy listening
A not sarcastic question for the power conditioner/upgraded power cord folks Everything is important!!! Get the best power cable that you can afford to go from your wall socket to your power conditioner. Just that simple. Happy listening.
I find myself "tuning out" anymore.....is the magic fading? I feel pretty much the same way. After so many years of anything, it can start to get old, including high end audio. Hegel hum? My Hegel H590 has a normal, cyclical, mechanical, ever so slight hum. In over 25 years in high end audio, I've never owned an amp, whether it be tube or SS, that didn't have some kind of a hum. Some hums extremely slight, and some more noticeabl...
Does anyone listen to the radio anymore? I do sometimes listen to a couple of the Roon radio stations. I enjoy them, too.
Things we cannot be bothered by anymore Turn tables and CD players.......no more!!!
Subs? Two subs are always recommended over just one. You can mate subs with any speaker regardless of size. The size of the subs should be in accordance with your room size. A couple of high quality 12" subs would be ideal for your application. Happ...
Tidal SQ Issues I use Tidal and Qobuz. No such issues here. They both sound heavenly, in my room, through my audio system. As a matter of fact, between the two, my Roon default is Tidal and not Qobuz. Happy listening.
My Sonus Faber Amatis have weak bass even though I'm running ML 536s--800 w/ch into 4 ohms In over 25 years in high end audio, and owning several high-end, full range speakers, I never experienced any speaker, in any of my rooms, that exhibited a lack of bass. If anything, the speakers sometime exhibit just the opposite, too much bass....
soft dome versus hard dome tweeters Over the years, I've had just about all the different types of tweeters including: diamond, beryllium, horn, ribbon, ceramic, aluminum, soft dome, titanium and electrostatic. All the aforementioned tweeter technologies have their redeeming qualit...
Retirement integrated amp for a “fiscal conservative”…..Part 1: I have a plan @ezstreams Why go through all this "rigmarole" on a forum like this? This is the age of high tech with a vast global market and information (new and used) at your disposal via the internet that you can utilize to do your own research. In additi... |
