Apogee Acoustics repair
@mijostyn I love Sound Labs ESLs, as well.  In years past, I've also owned Acoustat, Magnepan and Analysis Audio ribbon speakers. Currently, I own Revel Salon 2 speakers, which represents the end of the road for me as far as speakers go.  Still, I...
Apogee Acoustics repair
I agree with mijostn. If you’re a fan of the ribbon sound, the old Apogee speakers can be very hard to resist. However, it you want to go down that path, expect the worst, just because of they way they were built, their age, and the deterioration ...
Stereophile review of the $30,000 tekton speakers
Doesn't make any difference to me who the manufacturer is.  Great reference caliber SQ is great reference caliber SQ.  If Tekton was able to pull it off, then Kudos to Tekton!!!
Qobuz vs. Tidal
I currently have both Tidal and Qobuz but I do prefer Tidal over Qobuz. For me, Tidal just seems to be more user friendly and also provides the user with more music selection options than Qobuz. There’s no noticeable difference in SQ between the t...
Anyone that have try Tubulus interconnect cable?
@2whizz2 Hello.  How did the Tubulus silver cables work out for you?  I know.  It's been a while.
Audioquest Pegasus XLR Interconnects
Sure , I thought about a demo loan.  However, since the Thunderbird is an upgrade to and a higher performer than the Pegasus (copper), which I absolutely love, I'm pretty confident that the Thunderbird will be more to my liking than the Pegasus. I...
Audioquest Pegasus XLR Interconnects
@bwguy  The Pegasus sounds so excellent in my system, I'm still questioning my decision to pull the trigger on the Thunderbird.  Now, I'm expecting the far more expensive Thunderbird to fly me to the moon.  I'll let you know.
Audioquest Pegasus XLR Interconnects
As I've touted from the mountain top, as much as I like the Pegasus in my system, I've just ordered the Thunderbird XLX, and look very much forward to receiving them.  Happy listening.
At what point do you...
Personally, I try to always buy used.  Buying pre-owned gears has worked out beautifully for me for over 20 years, and I've saved a ton of $$$$ in the process.  High end audio is way too expensive, and with such a vast global on-line market at our...
AudioQuest Pegasus vs Thunderbird Interconnects
@Ozzy  Yes, LOL!!!  AQ needs to send you a little something.  Also, I did buy the Thunderbird XLR ICs new and I expect for there to be a lengthy burn in.  You know what they say about system matching.  I must say, the Pegasus sounds so excellent, ...
AudioQuest Pegasus vs Thunderbird Interconnects
@ozzy The AQ Pegasus XLR are truly wonderful sounding interconnects in my system that I could very happily live with for the duration. But, just the same, I’ve just ordered a pair of AQ Thunderbird XLR, which should be, I hope, my end-game interco...
JBL K2 S9900 vs Klipsch Heritage Jubilee Horn Speakers.
@alexberger  I really don't believe it's necessary to change anything about the Jubilee speakers, including it's crossover.  The speakers are exquisite just the way they are.   You know the old saying........if it ain't broke, don't fix it (LOL). ...
Audioquest Pegasus XLR Interconnects
@kennyc  I'm a big fan of Audioquest cables.  My very first high end cables were Audioquest Midnight speaker cables, way back in 1999.  Currently, Audioquest makes more cable models than you can shake a stick at.  I started with Earth, then upgrad...
(20 year old) 1.0 meter Kimber hero xlr and Audioquest diamondback xlr cables
Well, the absolute only way to definitively know which cables will sound best in your system is through trail and error. You must audition as many cables as you possibly can and let your ears be your guide. There is no other way.  Happy listening.
JBL K2 S9900 vs Klipsch Heritage Jubilee Horn Speakers.
@alexberger  There's a very nice high end audio shop in Sacramento California that has an outstanding Klipsch Jubilee set-up that I get to go listen to whenever I get the urge.  In this set-up, the Jubilees are powered by McIntosh SS amplification...
