A life sentence!!!
….forced to keep one component in your current audio system for the rest of your life Interpreting as never parting with, it’s likely my Koetsu Corralstone D - perhaps the most musical cartridge but is now unobtainable.  Very fortunate to have ...
a rant
I too had high-end audio OCD obsession, but it’s subsiding as my audio chains gets established.  I do struggle which expensive noise reducing components to budget for: ether filter, Ethernet switch, Schnerzinger products, QSA…
Loudspeaker designer/manufacturer John DeVore shows reviewer Ken Micallef his system.
Hoping to someday acquire the 96db Devore O/96. I’m using a 100db Volti Rival for its efficiency and neutrality to check out low watt tube amps, and comparing between the musical O/96 vs Rival seems like great sonic fun

Upscale Audio is up front with customers
@hilde45 - thanks for starting this thread.  It's refreshing to positively support audio experts and their body of service vs taking a magnifying glass on a oops then blowing it out of proportion.
SPU TONEARM INFO
To investigate SPU sonics, I've purchased a variety of SPUs and a Thomas Schick tonearm.  I consider the Glanz MH-1200S to be the best SPU tonearm to upgrade to. But I'd likely purchase the Ikeda Sound Labs IT-407SS first as it's the ideal match ...
Need Opinions for Different Cable Manufacturers/Cable Designs
For excellent high quality silver and sonics, bargain priced Albedo Monolith  might be a great option
Moving to separates
… but an amp is about the only thing that seems reasonable High-end audio is a small niche market above box store offerings, and can get very expensively “unreasonably” quickly. For Sonics, the entire audio chain matters: including source(strea...
Devore O/96 with high powered amplifiers
+1 Leben CS600 is a great match for the O/96. Congrats on the O/96! After demoing many speakers at audio shows and stores, the O/96 are one of the best “musical” speakers I’ve heard.
Are internal component upgrades worth it.

@paqua123 it seems you’re asking us if you are capable - we have no clue if you are. Normally, one looks at the steps/procedures then decides for themselves whether they have the capability and drive to follow through.
Speaker or amplifer
Demo the Hegel first, then get back to us reporting what you liked, disliked, and sonic direction you wish to go like more bass energy, depth, articulation/definition
I should start with speakers. This I know. I’d like to establish a new system.
@toontrader Great idea to attend AXPONA 2025 - both Harbeth and Volti have demo rooms. When I was searching for my first high-end audio speakers, demoing speakers at audio shows was very helpful. There were a lot of great sounding speakers, but...
AXPONA 2025 April 11-13 Schaumburg, IL
I’m going also.  My last AXPONA was in 2022 where I purchased my demo speakers. I’m hoping to hear Songer Audio S1x Field Coil Loudspeakers as field coils usually sound effortless. I’m also hoping to hear the KLIPSCH + OJAS KO-R1. I heard AXPONA...
Sold Sold Sold
If the seller explicitly agreed to hold it a week, then to do otherwise is lying - I’d have to agree with the buyer. I hold honesty and integrity in the highest regard. If the buyer wanted to inconvenience the seller to wait a week "for free" thi...
