Tidal Speakers owners TBG, shouldn't you have the sound meter in the A position instead of C? I had mine on C and that is the reason some recordings were sounding quit at the same decibel levels as perceived louder recordings. I switched to A and it turns out I can tur...
Tidal Speakers owners I was talking about actual SPL, I use a meter and like I said one recording sounded quiet and dull at 75-83 and the other one sounded plenty loud at the same SPL range on the meter. For the record, I use a Iphone app. called Studio Six Digital SPL...
Question: Does ATC have the best midrange driver? So Pani, it sounds like you are saying they are not fussing about set up? They are coherent and room friendly?
Tidal Speakers owners Okay this is weird. I just played two recordings and one sounds much quieter at the same decibel levels. 75-83 sounds plenty loud and pleasurable on Lloyd Cole but quieter on Concrete Blonde.
Tidal Speakers owners Hey guys. Anyone else notice that Tidal likes to be turned up more than other speaker brands? What I mean is it seems like Tidal does not sound as good as other brands at lower levels but the higher you go Tidal sound quality improve exponentially...
Tidal Speakers owners Indeed you are right, I completely mis read your post. Sorry about that and thanks for clarifying.
Tidal Speakers owners So Tidal doesn't make the Piano Classic any more? I wonder why? Oh well. I just dropped a new amp to drive mine. It is form Aspen out of Australia and the amp is called the Maya. It is their flagship amp. It is a zero global feedback design and so...
Herron VTPH-2 Oh, I have heard the original i5 back in 2003 (i think)and thought it was really good. From what I hear from others is the i5.3se is a lot better than the i5 so it looks like you are in a good shape.
Herron VTPH-2 Podeschi, Good to hear on the VTPH 2 phono. Any chance you may be looking at Keith's preamp for your system as well?
Would you pay to listen? yeah, without a doubt I would pay to listen. If you buy, maybe you get a refund on the listening session?
Herron VTPH-2 Well, I already ordered the Maya not to long ago. The amp hasn't hit the market yet. About another month to go. The impedance match between the Modwright and the Herron may be holding things back a little.
Herron VTPH-2 You know, I have never had matched gear but from what I hear it is wise to use matching components. I would have looked into the Modwright preamps, but they don't have input select on the remote which is important to me. I already have my next amp...
Herron VTPH-2 Nice, but as I have gotten more time and experience with it and have listened to multiple tracks I know very well, the treble is a bit recessed or rolled off. For example guitars lines are more faint than the should be. That is not a compromise I ...
Herron VTPH-2 Yeah, Keith is great. I love the VTSP 3A and I think the cosmetics are good too. I know this thread is more about the Phono, but in case lurkers are looking for more info about Herron, there is a pretty big thread on the Herron preamps too.
WLM Diva Monitor -- Personal Experience? I have paired Cayin with the WLM's and I thought the match was wonderful. Do you have the Cayin A-88t integrated? I took out the 88s and put some Tung Sol 6550s in the amp. Sold the Cayin a few months ago, but it was indeed a good match with the W... |
