Also, Arcam has been it bit polite in the highs in the past. Has this changed with the rDAC?

Thanks for the reviews guys. Have either or you heard a current Aracm CDP? Any insight on how it compares?

Deaf -The extension cable sounds like a great idea. Do you have a web link to it? Thanks for the review.
DAC to match $2-3K CD player
It's not heresy if it sounds great! I haven't heard it, so no comments from me. In my book, heresy is suggesting the Musical Fatality V-DAC or the like will sounds as goog as a CD5x.
DAC to match $2-3K CD player
Looking back at your last few posts, I'd say save up for a true upgrade to the CD5x. I haven't heard the W4S DAC, but I'm pretty sure it'll be different sounding than the CD5x. If you like your CD5x, I'm pretty confident that you'll love the Naim ...
DAC to match $2-3K CD player
The Benchmark is a very good DAC. Sound preferences are a different story. Synergy also plays a big part. In my Bryston and Audio Physic system, the Benchmark would be horrible. Everything is too revealing of it. The Benchmark sounded very etched ...
$4000 to Spend on Amp, Preamp and USB DAC
Have you heard the Naim Uniti? It's an excellent 1 box solution. My dealer and I played around with one, and couldn't tell the difference sonically between the Uniti and Nait 5i-2 and CD5i-2 combo. In addition to being an integrated amp, CD player,...
DAC to match $2-3K CD player
Just to add...Work on the British street is Rega is getting ready to release a DAC that's at least on par with the Saturn, and may better it. Estimated at 500 GBP, or $1k. As to when it'll be available is anyone's guess. The Arcam rDAC at $479 repo...
DAC to match $2-3K CD player
The CD5x is a great CDP IMO. The new Naim DAC runs circles around it, for about the same price. If you like what your CD5x is doing, and Naim in general, check out the Naim DAC. You won't be sorry.I hate it when people compare the entry level DACs...

I just followed up with the Pink Fish thread. A gentleman said Rega informed their dealers and Rega has a prototype. The same person prevoiusly stated August or September release for 500 GBP (about $1k?).If it arrives in UK shops in September or O...

I'm a huge Rega fan. My Apollo sounds perfect in my system. I bough an Apple TV to use as a music server around April/May last year. My intent was to make it sound as good or better than my Apollo. If I can acheive that, I'd be done for a long tim...
Peachtree Audio iDecco & iPod/iPhone Compatibility
I've wondered that myself. I read somewhere in my Alpine car stereo manual that when using the iPod cable, it head unit uses its own DACs. I think they're claiming to do what these things are doing. The head unit is about 5 years old, and isn't a ...

Thanks again, Bob. The B60 has a pre-out/main in loop, so I could use that. That kinda defeats the 1 box principal though. There's a dealer or two in my area, so I guess an audition is in order. I'm also waiting on the Naim UnitiQute. It's going t...

When it comes in, I'll demo it in the store with my Apple TV (optical only), which will be my main use. They have a laptop with lossless files, so I'm pretty sure I'll demo it with that too. Once I get it home, I'll throw everything at it.I looked...
Has anyone tried the Shunyata Diamondback PC?
I had a Venom on my Bryston B60 for about 3 years. When the Diamondback went on sale at Music Direct, I bought one for the B60 and moved the Venom to my Theta DAC. I played around with configurations to determine what was doing what.I didn't exper...
