Int-Amp after Rega Mira 3? What's Next? I said the word dry. Its not gratingly dry, but it can get get dry none the less. Rather than modding the Mira, I'd move on if its not doing it for you anymore. You'll probably lose more money on it if you mod it.I run a Bryston B60 with a Rega Ap...
totem et al I agree, they only get better. But keep in mind that Totem doesn't design speakers as lines i.e. Studio 20, Studio 40, etc. The design each speaker individually and they have different traits. They dont use the same drivers but different sizes in ...
best quiet small speaker, integrated amp - cd ATCs don't sound very good at low levels IMO. Actually, many of them need to play a bit louder than average to open up.
Amp for Harbeth P3ESR The Destiny is an excellent integrated, Sam. For some reason, it's one that I forget about. Should sound great with your speakers!
Int-Amp after Rega Mira 3? What's Next? Not that I don't hear differences in cables, but generally speaking they won't transform a system. Just my experience. Rega's forte is sources IMO. The Mira and Brio are good for the money, but not as good as the Apollo and Saturn. Those integrate...
Amp for Harbeth P3ESR The Bryston B60 is a phenominal integrated amp (I own one), and can fit your budget used. Impeccable build quality and customer support. It sounds very good with Harbeths to my ears.If you don't mind tubes or not having a remote, the Manley Stingr...
Adding Warmth and Balance with McIntosh 2105 Try out PMCs. Not a 'warm' speaker, but very well balanced, uncolored, and fast. I've heard them with Mac (among others) and its a very good pairing IMO.I listen to mostly rock - classic rock, metal and alternative. I run Audio Physic Yara Evoluti...
help me make sonos better Sorry Pjohri. I do remember the ZP100 now. I thought they all had digital outs since the first generation. Guess you learn new things every day!
help me make sonos better I don't think there's a ZP100. There's a ZP90 and ZP120, both have digital outputs. There's a BR100, which is a "zone bridge" - basically a wireless distributor. The BR100 doesn't play any music, it just sends it to the ZP's.In any system, DACs can...
Converting LP's to digital files I just bought a Cakewalk UA-1G, which is made by Roland. It has analog and mini optical inputs, and a USB and mini optical output. It also has an input volume control. It does up to 96khz. It came with their own software, but I've been using Audac...
Wyred Dacs--Thoughts? Anyone compare the Wyred DAC-1 ot the Benchmark DAC-1?
$1700 floorstanders I've heard the ATC SCM11 powered by the 372. It can drive them. All of the ATC magic that jaxwired mentions wasn't there. It doesn't have the grip and control they demand IMO. It's like putting a VW GTI engine Ina a Ferrari. I'm not bashing NAD - ...
$1700 floorstanders The Revel F12s are very good as well. I think they're on the same level as the Studio 60s, yet are easier to drive. They need a lot of space to breath, and they're very big physically. If you like bass, they're outstanding for the money.I think th...
Best Pre for ATC 100's 3rd the ATC preamp. They were designed to work with their speakers. I'm not saying nothing else is better, but I don't think there is at the price and with active ATC speakers. They're great on their own, and far better with their speakers IMO.
$1700 floorstanders ATCs are phenominal speakers when powered and set up right. They need a ton of power - far more than the Marantz you're using. I've heard Naim seperates struggle with them. Unless you're willing to buy at least 200 watt monoblocks from companies l... |
