Grain/Distortion heard on Inner 1/4 of LP
I printed out several charts using 222mm as the setting. I was able to find that from Clearaudio's website. I will try using Lofgren B. Is there any particular reason for using this? Why would this resolve inner groove distortion? As far as VTA, I ...
Grain/Distortion heard on Inner 1/4 of LP
I don't really see a need to spend $110 right off the bat when there are free alignment tools out there. The Conrad Hoffman tool seems very nice. I'm going to try that tonight, but I still don't know which standard for inner and outer groove radiu...
HELP Stylus Cantilever slightly bent to the left
I'm having issues with inner groove distortion right now. I'd be interested to find out if you're having the same issues.
Grain/Distortion heard on Inner 1/4 of LP
I would assume that a Clearaudio Virtuoso was made to match with a Clearaudio Satisfy tonearm. When I received the table, the tail end of the tonearm was low, but I raised the VTA to make it parallel. Maybe that's one of the issues. Although I did...

Ducatirider: No I do not have that stat, but it should be available somewhere? It's a Clearaudio Emotion with Satisfy tonearm. I will have to search for that info.

I appreciate the advice. I guess it's just never good news to hear that you have to spend even more to perfect your setup. Some of those companies really seem to really pull in the profits from us perfectionist audiophiles. I will do a search on t...

Wow that thing is $100. Do I really have to spend that much to get my setup perfected? How can the provided alignment chart not be accurate enough?
HELP Stylus Cantilever slightly bent to the left
Jerko: I just purchased a used Clearaudio Emotion with Satisfy arm and Virtuoso cart from a member on Audiogon. I noticed the exact same thing when setting it up. I did my alignment according to the cantilever and not the cartridge body, however, ...
Clearaudio Emotion lacks dynamics
Well I've been playing around with the tracking force a bit, increasing it little by little, and it appears to have helped some, but I still have the same problem distortion, more so when playing the inside of a record. My problem is that my Shure...
Clearaudio Emotion lacks dynamics
Ok my VTA adjustments were a success. The sound is much more locked in now. Bass response has improved greatly. I think my cart alignment is good, but the cantilever almost seems to be a bit bent in relation to the cartridge body. At first I did m...
Clearaudio Emotion lacks dynamics
Thanks for all the helpful input. I am going to use the advice to fine tune my VTA this afternoon and I'll report back. But one thing I just did that made a HUGE improvement was change my cabling. I was using a pair of Silver Sonics to go from the...
Clearaudio Emotion lacks dynamics
I'm using a Bellari VP129, and the input impedance is 50k Ohm. Both my Goldring 1012gx (previous cart) and the Virtuoso Wood have a load resistance of 47k Ohm, so I'm not so sure that is the problem.
Clearaudio Emotion lacks dynamics
Well my concern with adjusting this is that there is a screw on the tonearm base that lines up with a hole in the right side of the plinth. I'm not quite sure how to raise the back end of the tonearm without causing that screw to become misaligned...
Having trouble extracting sound from certain vinyl
I actually just setup my Emotion this afternoon after purchasing it used from a member on Audiogon. It came with the Clearaudio Virtuoso cart. Overall it sounds amazing, but for some reason, I feel like my Music Hall MMF-5.1 had better dynamics. I...
Amp: Integrated - Used; - Sub $750 Help :-
I've had no reliability or ergonomic issues with my NAD T162/C272s combo. Great sound for the price (although this is not an integrated solution).
