Paradigm Studio v2 VS. Vandersteen 2Ce Signature ?
Unfortunately the dealer here in the Pittsburgh area that is listed on Vandersteen's site has been out of business for a while now. I should probably inform Vandersteen so that the listing can be taken off of their retailer list. The closest deale...
Paradigm Studio v2 VS. Vandersteen 2Ce Signature ?
Unfortunately, my listening room is small too (my bedroom), so this has been on my mind and may be a major drawback of these speakers. The Studio v3's sound fantastic, but I'm just wondering what the main differences are between the v2's and v3's....
Need Help With a Bright System
Good suggestion. I'm really enjoying these Studio 60s. I may try and find a set used instead of doing research and buying another pair without hearing them first. I imagine I can pick up a pair of Studio 60 v3's for about $900 here on AudioGon. I ...
SS Amp for Triangle Speakers
I own a pair of Triangle Antal XS, and will have to disagree with the suggestion that NAD amplifiers will do well with these speakers. I'm using a pair of C 272 mono blocks, and they sound extremely bright and harsh with the Antals. In my opinion,...
Need Help With a Bright System
Well I had a chance to bring the Antals back home and hooked them up to my dad's system (PrimaLuna Prologue 2 + Marantz SA-11S1). I have to say that the transparency and imaging was pretty remarkable, producing a very accurate sound image that had...
Need Help With a Bright System
I think what some of you may be forgetting is that the NAD amplifiers I'm using right now are not mine; I've made no financial obligation towards these amps or CD player, they're just something for me to use while I save up for my own components. ...
Need Help With a Bright System
Piezo: Yes, buying new speakers is pretty much out of the question right now. I spent a long time researching and coming up with the decision to buy these speakers, and to be honest I like how clear they sound; I'd rather match other equipment to ...
Need Help With a Bright System
Wow! So many recommendation, I'm not sure which ones to try first. I know that Best Buy sells some of the Monster power conditioners, so I may be able to try one from there. If it does make a difference and I decide not too overpay, I'll take it b...
Need Help With a Bright System
“Did you have previously everything except the Antals and sound was OK, i.e. better highs reproduction?”Well, I was originally using an NAD C 340 integrated which I accidentally burned out. The NAD C 272’s that I’m using are my dad’s; I’m borrowin...
Need Help With a Bright System
Thanks everyone for the info. The room is actually filled with furnishings because it is my bedroom. At first I suspected that it was the room, but after a while I realized that it was more the fault of the speakers being bright. I bought these sp...
A worse feeling than burning out your amp?
Yioryos, yes it is a good excuse to upgrade my amp. The thing is, I was going to upgrade my DAC which was a bit more necessary, but now I have no choice but to buy another amp (I'm using a Kenwood receiver right now).
A worse feeling than burning out your amp?
Well I took the amp apart and noticed an area of smoke build up on the top of the cover right above a big capacitor (there are 2 of these in the amp, I'm assuming one is for each channel). I don't know much about electronics so I don't know if it ...
A worse feeling than burning out your amp?
What does it mean to "blow a channel?" Does this mean a blown capacitor, resistor, or the entire electrical path?
A worse feeling than burning out your amp?
Yes well it's good to know that I'm not the only that has made such a foolish mistake. I never thought that pulling a cable out like that could fry something. I do think that it's the preamp that is toasted, so I'm going to open it up and look for...
Music from hard drive better than CD?
Perhaps you missed the paragraph from my last post, so I will paraphrase:“You mentioned Dell, which you implied has higher quality standards than the chop-shop manufacturers. From Dell.com you can get an entry-level Inspiron 1200 laptop for $549. ...
