What do the arrows mean on my cable?
Deer creek audio through their response above was worth the effort  kind of surprises me something as basic doesn't have a widespread consensus.  It goes back to the grounding issue, Connect the Ground on both sides of the cable or no and which o...

Well that's interesting. Never would've guessed that it's Connected this way.

What do the arrows mean on my cable?
By the way these are monster interconnects I’m talking about. It appears there is no way to tell the difference between RCA and digital cables. Monster never labeled there cables so once the original packaging is gone it's a problem   To another...
SQ difference XLR vs RCA ?
Balance components are basically designed to have one side mirror the other side with respect to the electronics inside the chassis.  When manufactures do this they tend a cheap out because they have to do two systems.  So if you get a RCA only de...
Is optical mostly a waste of time versus Ethernet?
Packet loss sounds a lot like election fraud. Oh no
Power isolator versus need for a better Power supply
It's a Transparent Power isolator, it is in the power conditioner family.    Related to refrigerator compressor, I am speaking about the obvious audible noise not the electrical noise, which is on a different circuit and should not be much of a p...
Power isolator versus need for a better Power supply
The biggest improvement I can make right now is to find a refrigerator with less compressor noise.  I actually turned down the freezer temp setting and found that the compressor was cycling on and off quite a bit less.  Freezer is now 0 to 5° whic...
Power isolator versus need for a better Power supply
All wall warts are not created equally which makes sense. I have a streamer, the lumin x1, and it comes with a separate Power supply that's supposedly is quite good.    But when it comes to a Quality switch or even a nucleus, spending 300 to $100...
Is optical mostly a waste of time versus Ethernet?
Lots of talk about packet loss which doesn’t sound good. How many packets are we talking about versus the actual volume of packets that arrive every second.
What is an AV grade switching power supply?
Problem with linear power is that the circuit is always on and this creates noise. A switch power is fine if the filtering for high frequencies is done well and should not be a problem. So linear power for switches it's not a good idea.
What is an AV grade switching power supply?
The item you speak about is not available from Amazon.    Question is about an AV grade Power adapter. What is av Grade?
Is optical mostly a waste of time versus Ethernet?
Everyone is talking about noise which has merit, but what about clocking and jitter. Seems this is the most important thing relating to clarity no one talks about.  faster and more precise clocking chips which seem to have Great impact on sonic pe...
Is optical mostly a waste of time versus Ethernet?
So maybe a router that is Wi-Fi free should be used to connect all the audio stuff and you can then connect a router with a Wi-Fi daisychained to the first router, because everyone needs Wi-Fi. Does this seem like a really good idea? To me the W...
Is optical mostly a waste of time versus Ethernet?
This thread has become a waste of time. There are some really good answers included here but some of the tangents really disappointing. In summary it’s all about the noise passing through the ethernet cable and dealing with it. Network switches h...
