Bacch SP ???
This is really weird. The system follows you around the room and I think you have to wear a location device, or tracks you around the room? And then there's software you have to install and configure and modify. Not sure I see a future for this,...
Why is solid state more popular when tubes are better?
I'm not sure people really understand what distortion means. How is it considered to be good when listening to music, and tubes apparently doing much better job versus solid state.
Why is solid state more popular when tubes are better?
Seems many comments above are talking about artificiality of solid state. Tubes introduce a more realistic Sonic impression versus scientifically created solid state transistor stuff. Tweaking all those electronics to get sound suitable for listen...
Why do speakers improve with more powerful amps?
@ghdprentice  Very nice main system and the space, lots of audio research very Tubi. The room looks dead quiet. Another world. Also like the Tiffany lamp, and really love the doggie. Use of the meridian processor and speakers for Home theater i...
Why do speakers improve with more powerful amps?
It's the quality of the signal powering the speakers that would seem to be very important.  A large reservoir of power well designed within an amplifier allows for the frequency demands to be there when you need them.  Presumably a higher powered ...
Why do speakers improve with more powerful amps?
So why the hell do people buy inefficient speakers? So many issues with powering them, and yet so many people with positive feelings about amplifiers putting out a quality 50 W. It's just nuts, and the communication about why this is is wacky. ...
Demise of bass quality in Main speakers
The speakers I have are B&W 802 d3 and the subwoofer is B&W ASW2000. This combination serves needs of tighter bass and fullness lower end base, without getting caught up in all the crossover issues. For home theater, I set the crossover t...
Demise of bass quality in Main speakers
@mapman Congrats on reaching 21,000. Probably the most on this forum
What is the proper loudness for listening?
Things sound better than louder they are. Just below the point where it gets uncomfortable and where are you notice distortion.  Treat yourself every once in a while. But overall keep it around 75 because it does damage hearing over Time. Oh and...
Is a home theater even worth it or doable?
you have to get main speakers for a home theater system. Sound Qualityis really important to enjoyable listening. Center channel is great because it doesn’t contaminate the main speakers with voice stuff. less muddy pure music. Need a large subwo...
Vibration isolation or absorption?
@audiopoint  Do you have details of your system I would be very interested.
Vibration isolation or absorption?
Mr. @audiopoint Thank you for all your comments. It would be of interest to see your system and how it’s configured with all this vibration stuff but I don’t see anything there. It would be nice to see something on your system thanks
Vibration isolation or absorption?
Do you know the acoustical tiles people put in their ceilings, and on the wall. They’re about three or four dollars for one square foot piece. These are excellent absorption panels and they fit real nicely underneath certain speakers and other co...
Vibration isolation or absorption?
Can you provide examples of which firms do mechanical grounding Products?
Vibration isolation or absorption?
@raysmtb1 I looked at your system and it appears you’re using the two channel McIntosh for one set of sneakers and monos for the other two. Have you ever tried biampin thing with the MC 275 for the mid/upper range drivers, and the monos for the ...
