GNSC Wadia Statement Mods/Heard Them?
Let's just say, if you really like the Wadia sound, you will really like the Statement mod.
realworld experience: Kharma subwoofer + 3.2 CRM
Let me set the record straight. The ceramique drivers are very sturdy. The are not "prone" to blowing or cracking. If misued, the voice coil can hit the ceramique shell and crack. Any driver can and will due the same thing. It is much more noticeab...
Kharmas with Atma-Sphere
Which Kharma? I have tried the M60's, MA1's and MA2's with the Kharma Midi Grands, Exquisites, 3.2s and 3.1s and they all have the same characteristics with the Kharma's.... too lean. With the Tenor amps, the speed, transparency and openess is the...
Seeking $15,000.00 speaker to replace Quad 988's
Kjl: Be wary of SoundLabs as the panels have to be replaced quite often. I know a number of people who have had continuous problems with them and getting service on them is not easy.Sonically the are nice, but the room size is very critical. My re...
Seeking $15,000.00 speaker to replace Quad 988's
Lrsky: His amplifiers will NOT drive the SoundLabs.
lamm pre/phono amps vs. placette passive units
The Placette, in the configuration you are using, is the better combination sonically. The big plus is also the remote control.
Seeking $15,000.00 speaker to replace Quad 988's
The Kharma 3.2's have excellent clarity and will surpass almost any speaker in this regard. While the project a huge soundstage, they are essentially designed for a small to medium sized room. They have excellent micro dynamics, but on a macro lev...
realworld experience: Kharma subwoofer + 3.2 CRM
The 3.2's with the subs are not nearly as good as the Midi Exquisites. The midrange driver and the tweeter are far better in every way. I think Thom_yis talking about the Midi Grand Ceramiques and the 3.2 CRMs. With or without a subwoofer, the lim...
realworld experience: Kharma subwoofer + 3.2 CRM
The Midi Grands are more cohesive. I did not think the sub integrated well with the 3.2's. The soundstage seemed to shrink.
Pass XA160 or Rowland 302 for Eidolon Diamonds
I have heard the JRDG amps on the Eidolon Diamonds as well as the Halcro DM68 and Tenor 300HPM. I thought the Tenor was clearly the best, the JRDG second and the Halcro was a far third.I do sell Tenor and do not sell JRDG or Halcro.
EMM Transport V. Meitner Phillip Transport
Both pieces (DCC 2 / CDSD) are exceptional and equally important. The Philips was a means to an end, but never really represented itself as an EMM Labs product.
Kharma Ceramique 3.1 vs 3.2 CRM
You are correct.
Kharma Ceramique 3.1 vs 3.2 CRM
The 2.1 is not in the same class for midrange as the 3 series. The 3.1 is very similar to the 3.2. The 3.1 does not have the last bit of resolution as the 3.2. It is surprising how good the 3.1 is comared with the 3.2 CRM.
Von Schweikert "rear ambiance driver" revisited
How many hours do you have on the speakers? If it is less than 600 hours, do not worry about it yet. I would leave them open fully so they will bvreak in quicker. If you can endure :)
Watt Puppy 7/Ear 861
I have a ton of experience with the Watt Puppy's and although you will get sound with 30 watts, there is no way you will be doing any justice to either the amps or the speakers with that combination.New amps or different speakers.
