My comment on CD players vs. Universal DVD players
I'm with you nearly all of my listening is to cd's and I love my dedicated player! If I ever move on it will almost surely be to another cd player, barring some radical acceleration in technology. I'm a very late adopter.

Just use a single pair. Happy listening!
Article on blind testing at CEC
I just have to say it's refreshing to see an article in a major publication that doesn't reflexively take a dim view of audiophiles or dwell on the lunatic fringe of pricing. It was really quite well done if a bit pointless.
Should I get the Art Audio Jota
I think the amp speaker match will work well. I own a pair of Micro-Utopia's that I can drive to deafening levels with 24 tube watts. Though not exactly the same as the Mini, I'm guessing the electrical specs, sensitivity and impedance, are nearly...
Top 5 Entry-level audiophile speakers $1500-2000?
Check out Deja Vu Audio in Mclean, VA. They carry Spendor, Quad, Proac, and Audio Note speakers, all have models under $2K. They also have great tubed gear and other stuff, particularly analog. Vu is a really great guy with amazing ears, I'm just ...
CD Players with digital "in" capabilities
My Tube Technology Fusion CD64 has them.
Need help Cary CD-308 or Naim CD5i
Paul,I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that Naim never puts digital outputs on their players. So the DAC idea is a non-starter. Someone please feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

What made you select "audio" as your hobby
I don't consider listening to music a hobby. The gear thing is just an obsession with shiny objects that I can't seem to shake.
NOS DACs?
Guys,As I should have mentioned above, the Timbre TT-1 was available with a balanced option, AES/EBU input and XLR balanced outputs. I know because I owned one. If you can find one for less than $7-800 buy it, you won't regret it. Good luck and ha...
If you started over what would you do differently?
I would've found Audiogon sooner rather than starting out buying new equipment. Used is the only way to go, better selection, better prices, and lots of cool, fun people. At least I found it eventually!
NOS DACs?
Find a used Timbre TT-1, they usually sell for $5-800 when they appear. I used to own one and have always regretted selling it. The sound is highly detailed but still organic and a bit warm. Cool industrial design to boot. Check one out sometime, ...
Best Small Speaker System You've ever Heard
I love my current system, Tube Technology CD player> Deja Vu Audio Preamp/Amp> JMlabs Original Micro-Utopias. It's organic and warm while still presenting plenty of detail. The Micro-Utopias are great sounding monitors, especially in my smal...
