Integrated amp for my Sonus Faber Guarneri How about the Sonus Faber Musica? It stands to reason it would be a good match and I think I just saw one on here yesterday, though I don't know the seller. Good luck!
Baltimore Area Audiogoners--Help Needed Dopogue,I'll be sure and remember that when the time comes, thanks!
Northern Neck, Virginia Holy cow! Very good friends of my girlfriends family live in Irvington, VA. what a beautiful area. I'm there about once a year for holidays, not enough for a club, but good luck!
Tubes and Rock and Roll, Can they go together? Musicaudio,Why are you confined to shopping at Harvey? If you are in NJ there must be tons of good audio store in both NJ and NYC. Why not shop around and find someone to set up a good tubes/rock demo for you with appropriate speakers? Happy liste...
Baltimore Area Audiogoners--Help Needed Dave,Are you an analog expert in Potomac? I'm in DC and may want to bend your ear when I finally get back into analog, if you don't mind? Thanks,Jon
CD sound quality What about a NAD cd player? They make excellent budget units, I'm not up on current models but I remember the 542 being a great bang for the buck unit a few years back. I'm sure it can found on here dirt cheap, check it out!
Musical Fidelity Trivista 300 I agree with Musicaudio above and in fact since it's the whole volume control console being replaced you might be in luck. If it's a self contained unit it can probably be shipped to either you or a MF dealer local to you who could do the repair. ...
Best phono preamp for Dynavector 20XL I would second the P-75 particularly since it has an "enhancement" circuit for use with Dyna cartridges. New it's a great buy, if you can find one used it's a total steal. Happy listening!
Baltimore Area Audiogoners--Help Needed It's a bit of a drive but the guys at Deja Vu Audio in Mclean Virginia are analog experts and I'm sure they would do the setup for you for a nominal fee. Their number is (703) 734-9391. I'm not affiliated just a happy customer. Good luck!
Amplifier Weight. A Factor? Absolutely! I sold a KR Audio Antares even though I liked the way it sounded because it weighed 90 lbs and I was sick of lifting/moving it! I went with a succession of nice tube amps in the 30-50 lb range. The thing about heavy amps, tube amps esp...
IEC Connector Suggestions For ultimate quality it's tough to beat Oyaide and Furutech. Watch out for counterfeit Oyaide's though as I've been hearing about them popping up. I can't really comment on ease of use since i'm not a DIY guy, but they both sure sound good.
Where do I start? Make sure that your processer's "phono" input is a real phono input and not just a line input labeled phono. If it really is phono it's almost certainly a moving magnet input so make sure whatever table you get that the cartridge is MM, or if it's...
Which one is perfect for music Um, you need to be a lot more specific as to the application and setting. Generally speaking though if you're referring to digital connections, an rca coaxial connection is considered better than a tosling optical one. But again I have no idea if ...
Boltz CD racks? I have a double 660 rack and though I don't have it bolted to the wall I do have it right up against the wall. I'm afraid that loaded down with cd's it might be a bit unstable freestanding, especially on any sort of thick carpet. However if it can...
I need help choosing my next tube preamp. Though not a household brand name I would highly recommend checking out the custom made preamps by Deja Vu Audio in Mclean, Virginia. I borrowed one of their amps when I took my amp to them for some repairs and it was so much better than mine I ne... |
