| DAC and CDP Yes it is redundant your cd play has an internal DAC. You could add a DAC if you thought it might improve performance but it is absolutely not necessary. | |

| Best EL34 reissue? FWIW I have had nice results with both EH fat bottle 6ca7s and JJ 6ca7s in my pushpull 17 watt stereo amp. EH a touch warmer and the JJ's a bit more transparent but both nice tubes and super affordable. | |

| The effect of source and external "double DACs"? There is no "over-dac" effect because if you use the digital output of a cd player is bypasses the internal dac. A cd player can make a perfectly fine transport, a dedicated transport may be better but likely significantly more expensive. |
