Shipping damage becoming a real issue
Ghanson sorry you've had those experiences with dealers and I hope they make good on any issues for you. All my transactions here have been with private parties with good results other than some dealer purchased tubes.
Shipping damage becoming a real issue
I am a psychotic over packager and thankfully in all of my transactions here I've never had an issue as sellers I've dealt with have been equally psychotic! But Ghanson you reference new items ordered is this audio gear? Or just stuff in general? ...
Wow .... €50K Headphones ... What next
Well part of that price tag goes to amortizing the freaking movie they made for the website! And they made a tube amp out of Carrara marble! So its a lifestyle product and a 250 unit production run I'm sure it will sell out very quickly. $55K may ...
Audio stores in N. Virginia?
Tom that's very cool and just checked out their website what an amazing selection. Did they have much gear setup to listen to? Very curious about Leben, Line Magnetic, and DeVore never heard any of those brands firsthand.
Vintage DACs. Do they hold up over time?
I used to own the Timbre TT-1, talk about a blast from the past, cool looking and good sounding piece. However my system then was a far cry from what it is now so I can't really say how it holds up. Worth checking out perhaps pretty sure I paid $8...
Your experience as Yamamoto owner?
They absolutely build their own gear take a look at my system here if you care to see their handiwork, and as I advised the OP just give them a call or drop them an email.

Lewinskih01 I've never heard a Yamamoto amp sorry but I've heard many of Vu's amps, if you're looking for the 45 tube with more power I know that he makes a pushpull 45 amp, I had one on loaner a few months ago it was pretty amazing perhaps the mo...

I would second the Deja Vu rec from Gsm18439, I live near Deja Vu and have an amp and preamp of theirs, sound quality and customer service are both tremendous. In addition to building great amps they build custom crossovers as well, which it sound...

The 6moons review is here very extensive with great pics:http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/yamamoto2/45_2.htmlAnd the link I sent you earlier was from the German importers website which is quite good. The previous US importer was I believe Venus ...
Dolby NR encoding - did it ever work
I don't use tapes anymore but as a Deadhead back in the day it took just a few experiences with Dolby NR to never use it. It just quashed dynamics and took the life out of recordings, "stepped on" was how I used to describe them. The one proviso t...

Hi Lewinskih01,This may not be terribly helpful as I don't own one of their amps but I'm a more than pleased owner of the YDA-1 DAC a gorgeous and fantastic sounding piece of equipment. Regarding the amps sorry to hear that your inquiries were not...
Rowland's new integrated amp
So just curious in what situation would you need 1500-2500 watts? I ask this legitimately I can't imagine any situation where you could come even close to max power. Or really even 1/3 to 1/2 of max power.
