Best tube preamplifier for under $15k
+1 Audio Note they make great sounding preamps $15K would get you into an M3 I believe. Also look at Shindo preamps there are a few in your price range. Both AN and Shindo give what I would describe as a more natural sound.
Upping my digital game
You have lots of choices in streamers less so in streamers with attached storage. Auralic is a great rec by mgrif I use an older Aries Mini it sounds great spinning my files from a Synology NAS or streaming Qobuz/Tidal. Not sure if separating stre...
Aric Audio 300B SET Monoblocks
Aric congratulations on two excellent reviews and thanks for the clarification I was wondering why an older review was on the ETM site as a world premiere. Dwayne Carter gave you a great review but reading it he'd never used a tube amp before and ...
Aurender's "Sound"
What Dac are you using with the Aurender? I would think that would have more effect than the streamer itself.
How Long Did It Take You To Build Your Dream Setup?
I don't know if this is odd or not but I never had a "dream system" in mind. I just wanted a good system, knowing nothing,  and started down the road first at a dealer then on Audiogon buying and selling and trying out gear, then back to a differe...
Luxman C 1010 restoration. Worth it?
Definitely worth it and likely not terribly expensive I would say go for it.
CD Transport to pair with Audio Note DAC 5 - suggestions?
Congrats on the new transport,  the AN CT2 will be a perfect pairing for the AN Dac-5!
Looking for a good tech in the Philadelphia, PA area.
If you can't find a tech check out Bill Thalmann at Music Technology in VA. Also Ben Jacoby in Brooklyn works on tube gear and is very good.
Qobuz or Tidal?
I use both Qobuz sounds slightly better but Tidal has some stuff Qobuz doesn't have and vice versa. If I had to pick one it would be Qobuz.

One of my favorite reviewers Christian Punter as Hifi Advice also gave the Jay's a very good review:https://www.hifi-advice.com/blog/review/digital-reviews/cd-player-reviews/jays-audio-cdt-2mk2-and-da...
Qobuz vs Tidal
Hi Will so sorry to hear about your sight I hope it's reversible. As far as Qobuz and Tidal I subscribe to both but prefer Qobuz. Slightly and I do mean slightly better sound quality and I like their catalog better. I keep Tidal for titles not on ...
Tube versus SS
I will say I've found my system sounding better during lockdown because the overall noise floor is reduced. I don't mean power so much as outside noises, I'm in downtown DC, many fewer cars and trucks, fewer people talking on the street. I think t...
Your first “high end” system
Rega Planet, Bryston B-60 and a pair of Definitive Technology towers I can't recall the model. This would be late 90s.
It was 20 years ago today...
Happy Anniversary Viridian! This December 18th will mark 20 years for me here as well. It's been a lot of fun indeed and many member missed. And always nice to see a posting from you Viridian.
CD Transport to pair with Audio Note DAC 5 - suggestions?
I will echo Larry's comments on Lector I've heard their standalone cd player and also their Dac both were excellent at the same dealer Larry mentions. They may have fewer reviews but worth checking out for sure I didn't think about them making a t...
