| High end stereo preamp vs mc preamp? The answer is no there is no multi-channel HT preamp that's going to sound as good as a stereo preamp. You could get a really good stereo preamp with a HT bypass and do multi-channel that way giving you the best of both worlds. | |

| Power Amp You should check your line voltage if its running high that could take out tubes sooner. If you change your lightbulbs frequently that's a good indicator. | |

| I think is time for new speakers.. Some good recommendations above but you should wait to give your speakers away. For $800 even used dollars your DIY speakers may indeed sound better, worth a listen at least. |
