are subwoofers anti-audiophile?
Dukes Earls idea is a good one. Swarms of small subs sure work well to even out in room response. But I can not get room lock out of such designs unless I up-size to multiple large subs. Still nothing like a massive basshorn or 31.5in woofer for p...
Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage and Single Ended Triod
Why not use a loudspeaker designed for use with SET amplifiers? Using loudspeakers not designed for SET is very hit and miss mostly miss. And a reason why many do not enjoy SET. On your speaker most SET will be running into distortion on any peaks.

TBG try center placement of your subwoofer. Also try moving forward and back this might reduce the localization effect. Of small subwoofer. Massive design just produce pressure and detail to bass, small forced designs bloat notes can be located in...
Do any amps have 6 ohm taps for 6 ohm impedance?
You have a 4ohm loudspeaker, min ohm loads is where you should rate impedance. Thus not a 6 ohm but at 3.8ohm a 4 ohm load.
are subwoofers anti-audiophile?
Most subwoofers are a total design compromise thus many not so good for music. But infra bass systems do exist that do justice to music reproduction, stay clear of little cubes with massive power and large excursions. Look for bass towers, bass ho...
High Efficiency Speakers Your top 3 or more
Over 10k is lots of cash for cheap fostex midrange even if fancy cones coated.
Sophia 300B vs Jeff Korneff 45 Amp
Jeff K build quality's far higher. 45 will limit what you can drive. But for your use a JK 45 Is the better sounding choice. Still why Sophia 300b? Far better 300b amps about.
Tailoring tweeter output
RAAL uses 2 foam blocks to adjust radiation pattern these reduce output slightly. Maybe sim will work. But better to just use a attenuator on ribbon if its to hot near-field. Or replace loudspeaker many ribbon loudspeakers do run tweeters hot sinc...
Enacom speaker filters
I think they would damage the sound of any loudspeaker I designed or have experience with. Placing a random filter in front of your loudspeaker networks or transducer if full range is going to improve sound in what way? If the loudspeakers crossov...
Speaker Longevity
Drivers still are made with paper surrounds. I have loudspeakers that I listen to daily that are older than I and never rebuilt. Im 45. I would say about 15-20 years for most quality loudspeakers depending on conditions or abuse.
Can I get deeper bass from my 890c Boleros?

Capacitor log Mundorf Silver in Oil
One thing thats forgotten in this thread is transducer interaction with network. Just because in one crossover on one loudspeaker someone changed capacitors and say ones better than another is purely subjective. Listeners tastes system room loudsp...
Do aftermerket crossovers improve sound?
Shadorne amazes me how much folks pay for cheap transducers and poor measuring crossover parts. As long as it has the right brand name or had a + review fancy veneered of coarse. I see many 15k loudspeakers with $50 tweeters. In our KCS 17K model ...
