Used Rogue Audio Cronos - any warnings? I love my Rogue; I paid $1300 on the 'gon. They are available routinely. The meter is sort of free standing and sticks up through a hole in the top; shouldn't be a problem. If the transformer paint issue is due to moisture Id run away - i.e. rust....
Clearaudio Emotion. I think that's the best of the 3 you mention, it also looks cool as hell, too. I think you would be quite happy with it.
How many People own Working Reel to Reel Decks? I have one in the attic, but haven't used it in years. A cousin has just offered us a collection of prerecorded reel tapes and we're wondering if we should take them.
System Help I'm using the Rogue Cronus - list $1895. Its 55 - 70 WPC (depending on tubes used) would drive the SF just fine. It has a built in phono amp that is adequate and a headphone jack for low impedence phones like Grados.
Rega P2, Thorens TD-180 or Music Hall MMF-5.1? I bought a Thorens 190 for my father-in-law for Christmas. He is hard of hearing and REQUIRES an automatic turntable. The sound was OK, but the table has no future - upgrades, etc.I agree with Ekobesky a new P3 would be future proof. If your dolla...
Blu Ray connectability HDMI / Component My display (booklet) says it does 480p and 1080i; is "interlaced" as good as progressive? If my display does 1080 i only and I out-of-date as far as HD? Thanks,'
Blu Ray connectability HDMI / Component My display was produced just before DVI - I correctly assumed DVI would not be "the standard" but unfortunately assumed component would always be an option.Fortunately, I'm pleased with DVD's as presented on my screen in the space I have available...
Which Turntable For Temporary Use/ please read You're comparing 3 very different machines. Your question is asking about very old vintage and vintage - Garrard/Linn/Thorens.Were it me, I'd use the budget on a new Rega P3 with a good cartridge and power supply unit. All Rega TT, Exact cartridge...
Good beginner tube amp suggestions Sophia baby electric was what I tried first - $350 used, but it provided a LOT of what I get through a much more expensive amp now.
fuses - the $39 ones or the 85 cent ones thanks for all the support and suggestions.....update: I installed a regular fuse and my amp is back to working normally and sounding wonderful.Regards,
fuses - the $39 ones or the 85 cent ones the amp uses 4 slow blow fuses; 1 for each EL34, .250 mv and Rat Shack doesn't carry 'em.
What's an Audiophool to do? If you were 95% satisfied with your wife would you trade her in?As an "old" buck with failing hearing, stay away from the high Db.just my 2 cents
Neutral el-34 .re-issue o/p tube for Jolida 302b. I favor the EH EL34's.Other tubes I've tried sounded different, but nothing sounded better. (Using Rogue Cronus)
arguments against starting a vinyl collection? I don't think #5 is true, but #6 definitely IS true. I've been at this hobby for 45 years + (since I was about 16 and started building). I have nowehere near the total number of media you do if I added LP's and CD's and SACD's and DVD's together. ...
Used Starter ht receiver.....5.1..... There is a Yamaha RX-V2095 posted for sale for $315. I am using that model; I paid $1250 at a discount, it listed for $1600 and was Yammy's 2nd model, not the top, for that year. It weighs 40+ pounds and sounds very, very neutral. I'm happy enough... |
