My stereo receiver is a little too bright. Can a cable help me out? @cakyol Putting a capacitor in parallel with the speaker is a really bad idea. I can only hope it was offered in jest. The OP will likely destroy his amp. If you want to use a passive component, use an inductor in series with the speaker.
Point of diminishing return for a DAC Once again millercarbon pollutes another thread with his constant shilling of Synergistic Research snake oil. Please stop!
My stereo receiver is a little too bright. Can a cable help me out? @jnovak I had a Pioneer SA-8100 integrated. I found that the amp alone was very, very good. The phono preamp, when taken from the tape outs was also very good. The rest of the preamp was noisy and aggressive and just not up to the same level as...
My stereo receiver is a little too bright. Can a cable help me out? Use the treble control, don't be suckered into hundreds of dollars of cables for a Pioneer receiver. And frankly, the 300 hours of burn in time is just silly.
Does raising speaker cables off the floor really make a big difference? I can't believe the ghost of Enid Lumley is still with us. That woman has done more to advance the snake oil industry than anyone else. I remember her going on about the audio qualities of different kinds of shellac on floors. I still have many...
"a stylish and affordable launch into the world of high-performance audio" @twoleftears A friend of mine recently traded a pair of Paradigm towers that cost over $5000 for a pair of Wharfedale Lintons. He's not going back. Paradigms are Home Theater at best, too aggressive and forward for high fidelity audio.
Perfect Path Technologies confusion LOL "viable products"
Perfect Path Technologies confusion thecarpathian I came for open discussions about honest products and maybe to pick up some hints on prospective purchases and tweaks. What I'm seeing is people with more dollars than sense shilling ridiculously expensive products espousing magic,...
Perfect Path Technologies confusion Actually, I'm working with real-world data, the theories are in your head. Do you really think that PerfectPath or SR have the facility to work with nanoparticles? Do you really think that they're able to bend quantum physics right there within ...
Perfect Path Technologies confusion thecarpathian Oh, and by the way, most companies offer money back guarantees knowing full well that only a handful of people will take them up on it. They also know that any negative reviews will be discredited and denigrated by people like you.
Perfect Path Technologies confusion thecarpathian You are right, I am coming from a position of ignorance when it comes to these product, and I am coming from that position because I am NOT ignorant. If you hear a dramatic improvement in your system then great. As a matter of fac...
Perfect Path Technologies confusion berner99 I don't have to hear something to know I'm being led down the "PerfectPath" when the claims of the manufacturer are so outlandish and lack any grounding in common sense or science. If you want to buy this stuff to try it out, be my gues...
Perfect Path Technologies confusion When a tiny company advertises the use of nanotechnology for an audio system usage, claiming that you just put it under any audio component or stick it inside your power input panel to achieve all manner and sort of magical audible improvements, l...
So I gained a few pounds and that lost love! Watch out, Millercarbon is back to shilling snake oil!No, expensive cables on an '80's era cassette do not make sense. Especially if this is one of those dual-deck Dolby C abominations. Let the dogs lie.
Could this be one reason tubes (and perhaps records) sound better? @millercarbon I am disheartened by your continual hawking of the extremely questionable products of Ted Denny and his Synergistic Research company. None of the products you mention address white noise, dither or anything else appropriate to this ... |
