Review: Shunyata V-Ray AC filter
Thanks for the review. I have alos been considering the V-Ray. Out of curiosity, what power cord are you using with the V-Ray?Cheers,John
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?
As a retailer/distriburor like yourself such a reply surely does reflect well upon your professionalism.Audiobuzz Ahhhh, so it is money! His secret identity revealed. I knew you had to be in the business or emotionally insecure. For the record, Au...
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?
Audiobuzz, once again I have to ask if you have any affiliation with GG. You seem to jump on Jafox pretty quickly, just like you jumped on me in the Jade thread. 4 of your 7 thread responses on record indicate promoting GG cables. So, is there fin...
A More Forward Sound Stage/ Cables the answer?
I agree with Clio09, look into Virtual Dynamics cables if you want a forward soundstage. I prefer the 'laid back' sound, that's why Virtual Dynamics cables did not work for me. I believe you can get their entry level Power/Testament level at a rea...
Is it worth this tonearm?
Nice choices so far Peter. If it were me, I would choose the Tri-planar, it is a first rate arm that takes a backseat to no one, IMHO.Cheers,John
JADE AUDIO Cables
Thanks John, things that make me go hmmmm. I also demo'd the 8 ft burn in pair of Vermeil and was very impressed. I await your further testing after the 4 ft pair is burned in. I'd really hate to go to an 8 foot pair, not just because of cost, but...
Does digital mastering/remastering "ruin" LP's?
Yes, IMHO digital mastering/remastering does degrade the sound. I own some LP's from the early 80's that were 'digitally mastered' that sound pretty close to cd like quality. There is nothing quite like a pure analog signal.John
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?
Yes, this is fun! 8-)I have tried a couple of Don's cords. I find them to be very good values and extremely musical. Not the last word in resolution, and the heaviest and stiffest cords I've ever tried. Someday I will have to see if I can borrow s...
Opportunity to buy the best Preamp... but which?
06-28-07: AtmasphereSo- if there is no 'best', doesn't it seem that there are a lot of manufacturers *saying* they have the best? I agree they can't all be right :)Seems to be an awful lot of pizza manufacturers saying 'You've tried all the rest, ...
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?
Hi Art,Thanks for the well wishes, fortunately the family issues are not health related (knock wood). I'm sorry if I misled you.Yes, I still have the Dream on my preamp as well as on my phono preamp and cd player. I think it makes the biggest diff...
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?
06-27-07: JoeyboynjJmcgrogan2, Have you tried the new Tesla Acoustic Reference and Precision Reference cables yet? I would love to hear how they compare to PAD and Jade. No, I have not heard either of the two cables you mentioned yet. I cannot say ...
Opportunity to buy the best Preamp... but which?
06-28-07: AtmasphereSo the 'best' does not exist?Well I think 'the best' does exist in many different forms. What is 'the best' to one may not be 'the best' to another. So I would say there is no 'absolute best', that is one that everyone WILL agr...
Static on Vinyl
Is your tube preamp grounded with a clear path? I know this may sound simple, but some power cords have no ground, and some have a resistive ground, that's why I ask.If your preamp does have a clear path to ground, then try the humidifiers as ment...
Excellent turntables with threaded spindles ?
I agree with Rushton, a spindle does not need to be threaded to have an effective clamping system. I own a Basis 2500 Diamond Signature, which has a unique no-thread clamp design as well. I actually prefer it over my old VPI HW-19 mk IV which had ...
Leave an amp "on" permanetly
If so, would people recommend leaving a SS amp on permanently?Absolutely!!Could I damage my amp by doing this? No!Cheers,John
