Is my cantilever broken? Some movement in the cantilever is normal. However, you should check your VTF(Vertical Tracking Force) to make sure that you are not exceeding the manufacturers recommendations.Cheers,John

My wife has no idea what I buy. She doesn't ask for acceptance for the purchases she makes either. It's m...
Members with No Feedback Feedback has no meaning anymore on AudiogoN. Anyone who has negative feedback posted against them can simply deny it. The feedback system has no value at all now.Cheers,John

$40.000 speaker advise. Check out my list Jkalman, you are more than welcome to enjoy your "great" thing, I just don't understand your need to force feed your "great" to others. I am no fan of Wilson speakers, obviously, but I would also encourage demo's to those that are interested. I wo...
$40.000 speaker advise. Check out my list Funny, I didn't see the Wilson Maxx 2 on Maxx1973's original list of 6 speakers. I also did not see Max ask for folks to expand on his list. Are you a Wilson dealer or something Jkalman? Why are you pushing Wilson so hard? Why enter the thread and ...
Componets first, cables second? See what you did Peter? Your thread has disintigrated into a subjectivist vs. objectivist pissing contest. What a shame, as these issues are never resolved, and never will be. Those that believe they hear differences will hear differences, those w...
$40.000 speaker advise. Check out my list Jkalman, I'm glad that you enjoy your Wilson's, but understand that others have different musical tastes/values. I would choose the Vandersteen 5A over the Wilsons anyday, but I understand that others will feel differently. I also understand that ...
$40.000 speaker advise. Check out my list 08-16-07: JtgofishAre $40,000 speakers really any better than a good pair of $15000 speakers? Are $15,000 speakers really any better than $5,000 speakers? Are $5,000 speakers really any better than $1,500 speakers? Why is everyone so concerned that...
ARC LS26 vs Ref 2 Mk 2 Hi Mick,I cannot really point you in one way or the other on these two choices. I would recommend that you listen if you can, obviously the LS-26 is your best opportunity there. The reason being that the LS-5 was based on the 6922 tube, which has ...
DIY clock upgrade? Jim, as Dgarretson mentions, find out the frequency of your clock. Most clocks require a seperate power supply to support the clock, not a simple swap. Parts Connexion sells some clocks that claim to not require a seperate power supply. Call Chris...
Tube Preamps...I'm sold Thanks John. Knowing Michael's work I bet it will sound great, though the longer it takes the more people will expect I would think. It doesn't sound like it's for me though, with no remote. Sorry, I just can't go that route. I would like to get e...
Componets first, cables second? Peter, there is no one right answer here. Shardone, no, you are not wrong, as this is not a right or wrong, black or white area. Things audio are never that simple. Peter, I would just go out and buy the best component you like now, that is the pr...
Componets first, cables second? Well I'll chime in on the side of balance, throwing myself to the wolves. While I agree that yes it's best to go with the source first, that is assuming that you DO NOT neglect the cables. Some will max out their funds on the source and never get ...
