looking for interconnect under 200 dollars
01-08-09: StringreenAnti-Cables... No questionIf it were only that simple......then none of these high end products would be on the market. Cheaper speakers, cheaper electronics, cheaper cables........what a wonderful world this would be.In the fu...
Player that excels at imaging..
Spaz, before ditching the SFCD-1, buy a used Virtual Dynamics Nite or Master power cord and slap it on that puppy and I bet that you get what you're looking for. You may not believe in p/c's, but I'm certain it sounds like what you're looking for....
Preamp inverts phase question:
I concur with both Almarg and Zargon, Bernie is incorrect. Once the phase is inverted, it does not magically 'uninvert' on it's own. If the preamp inverts and the amp inverts, then you are back to absolute phase. One more option could be an invert...
How many great CDs do you have?
I would guesstimate that I have about 90 wonderful sounding CD's, many of which are SACD. I would say this represents about 10% of my CD collection.Cheers,John
music in your holiday stocking
I must have been a very good boy, because I got the 'Jazz At The Pawnshop' LP like I asked for. Listening now, it sounds fabulous!!! I also received:Stockfish Records Vinyl CollectionDuke Ellington & John ColtraneRebecca Pidgeon: PerspectiveAl...
Any Blu Ray player that will also play SACD's ?
Crap! You guys just ruined my day! I received a Sony PS3 for my birthday last year from my wife (kudos hun), and now I find out that the unit she bought me is not SACD compatible. I'm using mainly as a Blu-Ray player, but had hoped that it would s...
looking for interconnect under 200 dollars
I agree whole-heartedly with Jafox's post. That being said, you will get many refferal's. I would throw the Audio Metallurgy GA-0's on that pile. Maybe they don't spend as much on advertising as Kimber, AQ, MIT, etc, but in your price range they c...
Player that excels at imaging..
What do you mean by 'imaging'? It sounds like you want something that will present a wider, higher soundstage with the players closer to you, am I correct? If I am correct, you may find the answer in a power cord and do not need a new CDP. Try a Vi...
Warmish SS pre:Rowland Synergy IIi preamp/others?
Chiho, I haven't heard the JRDG Capri that Guido speaks of, so I can't offer any comment on it.As to your question for me, the JRDG Synergy II and Ayre were fairly similar, very detailed, yet not harsh. I would say the older Classe's, Coda's and T...
Preamp inverts phase question:
01-08-09: Polk432Better do what the manual says. Who cares if you can't hear it. I have a Cary SLP98P and if have to reverse the wires on my speakers. Why take a chance of damaging or ending the life of something earlier than necessary? I agree th...
Classe ca 301 is the low end weak.
I've owned a Classe CA-200 and never thought it to sound weak in the bass. I've also owned a BAT VK-600SE amp and a Threshold T-400. The BAT VK-600SE was excellent, but well out of your price range. The Threshold T400 is the best amp I've heard in...
Preamp inverts phase question:
Victor Khomenko of BAT claims that 50% of recordings are recorded out of absolute phase. If true, it would make your question a mute point. However, I would switch the + and - leads at the amplifier end, as I have done in my situation. My preamp al...
Warmish SS pre:Rowland Synergy IIi preamp/others?
If you want a full bodied SS preamp, and like what you've heard from Classe, I would recommend one of the older Classe preamps. Either a Classe DR-6 or a CP-60 would fit nicely, and save you a few bucks.I've owned many SS preamps, the JRDG Synergy...
Aragon 4004MKII Vs. Bryston 4 B Pro
I'll second Paulficarella's reply. I would take an Aragon over the Bryston. One more note though, when looking to buy a 15-20 year old amp, be prepared to change out the main caps....just a thought.I don't know your price range, but you may want t...
weird static sound?
Is this setup running through your Prima Luna tube integrated amp? If so, it could be a bad tube possibly. If no tubes involved, I'm at a loss.Cheers,John
