Anthony (Tony) Cordesman has passed away
this is sad, another great one from the old guard passes a serious and influential person in life, not just in our hobby of hifi r i p

ahhh the endless churn of being an internet ’influencer’ -- all hopes of lasting credibility is gone in a just few blinks of the eye! 😅😂😆 just remember, when someone is trying to tell something for free, the question is who is that person helping...
Accuphase E-5000 factory power cord good enough?
buy a used pc and try it... asking here will bring absolutely no clarity in your mind regarding the question ... you will hear replies all over the map and confusion and doubt will remain

What makes One Music Server Sound Better than Another?

@jjss49 @yyzsantabarbara They say there are noticeable differences between the X - R & A 26 DACs, so I can see where the confusion lies. I would love to try both the A26 and the Yiggi+ LIM (not to mention a 1/2 dozen others that are out there...

I find speaker prices by looking for online reviews or just asking google. i am with @roxy54  i have never, ever had trouble finding prices of any hifi loudspeaker that i needed, old or new...  the power of the internet right at our fingertips...

i would agree there is considerable confusion oversimplification and misunderstanding regarding what goes into a dac and what inside a dac contributes to how it sounds as a finished product -- r2r or delta-sigma chip-based d/a conversion is but on...
Why do I prefer R2R over Chip based DAC's?

What’s the best DAC < 6k (system specific)
i have the hegel 590 and using its internal dac, the sound is very neutral (not warm) with very flat treble response... that along with your magicos and silver cables can lead to a sense of brightness, especially with the innuos front end when li...
Thinking of upgrading speakers from ProAc 3.8 I have enjoyed in my system for 23 years.
proacs remain among the very finest dynamic speakers out there, imo they magically balance the contrary notions of see-through clarity and musicality, with an open, vivid yet still warm and human presentation - they have always sounded just right...
DAC Merry Go 'Round- why I stopped at Weiss
@verdantaudio  My experience is no…not because the clock in the Weiss is so good but more that the internal I2S connection provides superior clock synchronization. If you look at the pinout for proper i2s implementations the clock is synchronize...
He spent his life building a $1 million stereo. The real cost was unfathomable.
@roxy54 I'm sure that he had a lot of joy in the process. yes i agree!
