He spent his life building a $1 million stereo. The real cost was unfathomable.
very cool how he made it a lifelong passion and process always ironic, like so many things in life, you have the means, you make the effort, but then there is only a limited window to really enjoy the fruits of the labor
Favorite tracks (jazz pop soul) you use to test bass response and subwoofer integration
two that are well known standards are mango drive by rhythm & sound limit to your love by james blake
Jim Winey (Magnepan) has passed away.

my 2 cents the r26 is really excellent, one would truly need a mega system to hear significant sonic benefit to pricier dacs - i feel it strikes a wonderful balance between uber clarity and musicality, and it has very good spatial qualities i wo...

Little help with REL subwoofers, please?
So, in my case these Rel’s exactly what I was looking for, just a bit more reach in lowest freq, and most impressively, the added sound stage ambience, greater recording venue information adds to an already impressive illusion of performers in ro...
Little help with REL subwoofers, please?
to my earlier comments i would add, or should i say, re-emphasize:... to me, for maggie 1.7i (or up) owners, dual subs are a must if one intends on extracting the best musical qualities these truly wonderful speakers can produce so 2x t7’s >&g...
Whats playing on your system today?

Eliminated my preamp with amazing results
the preamp vs direct-to-amp debate is a well worn one here on this board, there has been ample discussion in numerous posts over the years, including some very good, recent ones as can be expected, the specifics will dictate results yielded, so i...
Little help with REL subwoofers, please?
@northman you are on the right track... i would say get a pair to t7’s and be done (in your smallish room you don't need 4 subs, two mismatched)... re-sell the tzero’s (they just don’t go deep enough to do the 1.7i’s justice, as you yourself hav...
