Levinson ML-11 I'll bump it one more time just in case people missed this. Would appreciate any feedback...
Why is the snake oil topic closed? I'd like to chime back in here. I think what is appropriate or inappropriate relative to forum participation in certain threads depends on the context and the purpose of the thread:(1) When someone asks the community for advice on the best power ...
MQA decoding and CD ripping Check out Roon. It should, pretty soon, do a software MQA decode and it is superb for managing collections. Not very configurable or flexible, or inter-operable with other media software, but a nice user experience.
Levinson ML-11 Bump. Just keeping this up front for a few days in the hope someone uses this combo...
My rant; we don't know what we don't know It's a neurosis or a compulsion disguised as a hobby. But it's more fun than scratching eczema. And there are those magic random moments when your system emits pure bliss for just a couple songs.
Why is the snake oil topic closed? I'm just a guy who loves music and audio gear and believes that common sense should prevail in determining which after-market accessories should or should not make a difference or at least which are worth pursuing. There could be a civil, interest...
Why is the snake oil topic closed? Well for one thing as a serious audio fan that honors science and engineering, it can be kind of embarrassing to be associated with some of the more ridiculous tweaks that some support here. And occasionally it can feel like someone is trying to r...
Why is the snake oil topic closed? I shouldn't have asked. Apologies to serious audio fans. I need to go take a shower.

Why is the snake oil topic closed? I agree coke is better and once you get used to diet coke you like it better than regular coke. And Chicago style thin-crust is way underrated compared to New York style thin crust.
Why is the snake oil topic closed? Yeah there were some snarky posts. Ironically though the posts were getting more serious and polite as it went on.
What should my next upgrade be? Your best experience I agree a good high resolution capable DAC will likely help here. But the best upgrade I've done, short of replacing speakers, is to add left and right REL subwoofers. Improved every aspect of sound quality including vocals.
Has anyone made the jump to $uper High end and were disappointed? I don’t want to hijack this thread, but I have a question about what type of music folks listen to on their high end systems. Here is the basis of that question: with just a few limited exceptions, rock music is already amplified through electroni...
Streaming vs traditional I can't believe this thread went to global warming denials. Flat Earth next?Anyway, get the best of both (audio) worlds: rip your CDs, manage them with Roon, and integrate a Tidal subscription.
Disappointed w/ Klipsch Heresy III. Now what? The limited placement options are your challenge. In my experience, for low volume listening, if you cannot play with placement, you might try dipolar or bipolar speakers. Those are more airy in a greater variety of listening positions. Less swee... |
