Tweaks - An Honest Discussion
I know my previous post isn't as clear as I intended...what if your components bias has drifted and requires a mild tune up and we are trying to band-aid something with a "tweak".best,Jose
Phono to pre cable swap
The Valhalla sound is thin yet detailed (analog side of the system).  So I thought, swap the cables and see how Odin (previously on the digital side of the system) sound on the analog side of my system.  @rodman99999   thank you for teaching me th...
Tweaks - An Honest Discussion
Recently,  I took many components both ss and tube, for repair, checking, cleaning to Pyramid audio in Austin.  To date,  I have picked up 6 pieces; all of which, sound better than I remember prior to repairing.   I wonder if what we are listening...
Phono to pre cable swap
For example, i was listening to the king James Version, 1st track "corner pocket ". When the track begins the sound of the band was better, as compared to using the Valhalla.   When the trumpet is introduced within the track; the trumpet was dista...
Turntable platforms
Minus K is center of gravity sensitive.  If your component is heavier on one end, it cannot be rested/centered on top of the minus K platform.  To do so, you might have to use a ballast on the lighter side.  Also, the component cannot be slid whil...
Turntable platforms
My TT (Takai Final Audio VTT-1) rests flat on a Critical Mass System shelve with AT-616 footers under the shelve.  The AT-616 footers also level the shelve and thus the TT.  My set up works very well and I highly recommend.I use a minus K under my...
Do any still use an older high end tuner from the past?....
I use both a Mac MR67  and a Sansui TU-X1 regularly.  One or the other will be on for days at a time.   My wife and I have music going on all the time. Best,Jose
WOULD IT BE DUMB TO BUY A MARK LEVINSON NO 23.5
Send it to Pyramid audio in Austin, Texas.   They are a Levinson authorized service center.   I had them service my ML 33h.Enjoy and good luck, Jose
Boulder phono stage
I apologize; I meant to type "MAW"Jose.
Boulder phono stage
Thank you AMW.  Maybe,  I should audition the 508.  I have located both I mentioned above,  but have yet to commit.   I'm currently listening to an MC Anna on a Talea II, and a Stradiverdi V2 on a 11inch 4 point Kuzma.  Regards, Jose
First Moving Coil (MC) Cartridge Acquisition
I use a Hana ML and highly recommend it.  The Kiseki Blue is another VERY good option/recommendation.Best,Jose
Krell KAS amplifier hum
Update:I replaced the 6L6 tube and left all else the same; the hum can only be heard from 18inches away, without any music. Also, the hum is of a lower frequency.   I can tolerate this for the time being. I am going to replace the ARC Ref3.  I hav...
Krell KAS amplifier hum
Update:1.  All was left as initially, I only powered up the amp; very low hum from the speakers (ear against the speaker).  Could not be heard from 1 ft. away. 2.  Unplugged pre from back of distributor and turned ON the distributor.  No change fr...
Krell KAS amplifier hum
When I get home, I will look for the Krell manual and see if it states the input impedance.  Additionally, I will unplug the tuner.  Come to think of it, prior to experiencing the hum issue, I was using my Sansui TUX-1 tuner, so it may be the intr...

Gentlemen, please allow me to be COMPLETELY off-topic.I am humbled by all the thought processes and the suggestions you have provided.  Audiogon is filled with back and forth banter, so much so, that there are many recent posts about it...However,...
