hum in system, ground loon? 60hz?
Hum is the level on both channels. What use alligator clips and wire to short? and which ones are 2 and 3? I think it's time to call my dealer and let him help. Thanks for all the comments!!!
hum in system, ground loon? 60hz?
Ok Jtinn, some progress. I lifted the ground on the vk60 with a cheater plug. No change. Used a extension cord and plugged into a different circuit, with/with out cheater plug. No change. On a whim, I pulled the interconnects from preamp to amp. H...
Rhea set-up
Michael Fremmer did a pretty big review a few years ago, try looking it up on the stereophile website or sending him a note....he is still using it according to his equip. reviews...
hum in system, ground loon? 60hz?
Thanks everyone for your advice. I did recently add video equipment. I'll start unplugging that first, then moving the cords around, I do have everything at 90 degree angles and about inch away from each other. If that doesn't do it, sounds like i...
hum in system, ground loon? 60hz?
Thanks Paulwp, I have a Bat VK50SE and a Bat VK60. Electraglide AC cords and Transparent and cardas interconnects. Hum occurs with any source. It's not very loud and doesn't change with volume control. I can't hear it from my listening position, b...
Krell Kav300i for Audio Physic Virgo?
I can't comment on the Krell, but I have had a Bat vk200 and currently a bat vk60. Both are awesome with the virgo's.
? about going balanced from pre to power
The only thing you should notice is maybe your volume control will be at a slightly different setting. Regarding noise, balanced runs usually reduce noise by cancelling it out. You should have slightly better sound, not worse.
Ensemble power porducts: a surprise
I've heard from others out here that some equipment matches up better to certain power conditions. My Bat equipment in my systems sounds better to me with a Cinepro 20 balanced transformer than the p600. Maybe that's what you are hearing as well...
Need Help with System
Michael Fremer in Stereophile just recently talked about the Origin mod the your Rega 300 arm. He loved it. You can also add a new counterweight that helps. I'm using a Rega 25, rb600 arm and Lyra Lydian cartridge all about 2k in a top of the line...
Proceed, Aragon, Levinson, or other?
Classe makes some good amps...should match up well with what you have ...
Wadia 850 Digital Volume Setting?
I used to have a Wadia 850. The volume control settings are pretty easy to change. All you have to do and take the cover off (w/the unit unplugged) and move some dip switches around. It will make a difference. You might email Wadia to get the dip ...
Chang lightspeed VS ESP powerdistributor
I'll have to disagree completely with Stevemj. They make a big difference. Sorry, I can't comment on the chang vs esp. But I do have a Cinepro and it does wonders for my system. Powercords make a big impact as well...
Wadia with or without a preamp ?
Well my turn. I had a 850 direct into a Bat vk200. Great. Then bought a vk50se preamp. Much better. Not cost effective, but nothing is in the hobby!
Phono stage--please help
If you have balanced inputs on your preamp, the BAT phono stages are very good...you can get a vkp5 for around 1000-1200...
I need TT Help: Please advise
Ok, if it's a planar 2 with old arm, a Planar 25 will amaze you at the difference. Keep your cartrdige, try a better table...IMHO. I bought my 25 for under 1200 new from Music Direct. I've seen a few on Audiogon for under 1000. Good luck...
