Does Equipment Break In, or Does Our Hearing Adjust?
@ghdprentice I had the experience of breaking in three identical Audio Research Reference 160s amplifiers. Great amps. How did you happen to have three 160s?  Did you buy the 160 stereo version and then decided to buy the monos, or vice versa?
Bluesound Node (2021) PS upgrade to Teddy Pardo; is it worth it?
Also, can someone describe the benefits, if any, that are achieved by using a Toslink Optical cable between the Node and external DAC?  Is there much of an improvement over using a quality Coax?
Bluesound Node (2021) PS upgrade to Teddy Pardo; is it worth it?
@malibu457 you can buy a complete package PSU and regulator board for the 2i far cheaper then the $575 that TP is asking. Would you mind specifying the model and seller of the above upgrade PSU and regulator board that you are referring to?  ...
BluSound Node and Node 2
I would hazard a guess that Bluesound sells more servers than all the other brands combined, including ifi. And it is sold at such a low cost that owners do not need to "defend" Bluesound product quality in fear of losing resale. So IMHO looking...
BluSound Node and Node 2
@soix   But, if you’re going hard wired I think the Zen Stream is hard to beat although their customer service is even worse than Bluesound if you ever need it. I just don't understand what could have changed that people are discussing Bluesou...
Low buzzing through speaks
Echoing the above, try "a cheater plug on the Mac to see, and if it helps".  To eliminate the same in my system I installed a Jensen Iso-Max VRD-1FF 75 Ohm Inline Digital CATV Isolator Hum Eliminator between the internet cable and Xfinity cable bo...
Need 25 foot interconnects
@nymarty   Will try Blue Jeans Cable but wondering if there are other companies that can do that length. I suppose I can also try DIY. I have purchased all of my Canare L-4E6S RCA interconnects from Redco.  Just order what you want on their on...
Cable design is a lot like creating a pizza
It is often posted that the stratospheric high price of some high end cables is due to the extensive R & D that goes into the formulation of the final cable. This is just my opinion, but when I hear this I wonder what kind of jobs the posters...
Conrad Johnson LP66s Problems
@dsper  I start it playing. Occasionally, one channel will go out and then come back on with a thump. A while later, it will do this again I know you are discussing an amp, but I recently had this exact problem with my tube preamp, especially ...
Linear power supply
@robshaw   I'm currently using the included switching supply that sounds great. Very impressed with the Project units SOUND! WOW!  You could consider continued enjoyment with what you have as it is?  You sound very satisfied now.
Accuphase dac 60
When @lalitk said the slot chosen was the issue I thought “wow” what a simple fix (Resolution to the prob). I agree, it made a lot of sense.
Accuphase dac 60
It seems for whatever reason Accuphase has implemented the DAC 60 card to operate with a low voltage output. I have to give them benefit of the doubt and assume it’s for a good reason.  I don't know, but to me it sounds like something isn't wor...
Ribbon Cables vs. Standard
Then there are the Goertz Alpha Core flat cables.  Can't really compare to standard cables as you would need the identical cable built in both geometries.
Green Mountain Audio
My speakers use all scanspeak drivers.  It is really quite a blessing to be able to buy them off the shelf from Madisound when needed. I’ll mention that while the main speaker ID numbers remain the same, scanspeak will sometimes add a suffix that...
Aurender N200
There are a number of Aurenders for sale on Audiogon and US Audiomart, hopefully a good deal is to be had.
