using a transformer to separate your gear power
We have used a isolation transformer for years. We use a standard line no current limiting conditioner for amps, pre. Isolation transformers for all digital. My HDTV for that matter. The differences with and without isolation transformers is stagg...
What's so bad about Sovtek 6922s?
Sometimes a manufacturer will "voice" a piece of equipment utilizing a certain tube. Which could explain part of the problem. Have found that the different tubes all tend to have different characteristics that may or may not react well with your e...
Amplifiers Recomm. to drive my Martin Logans
Martin logans tend to like tube amps with lots of power. You might try and get your hands on one of the larger Audio Research or VTL amps. We don't sell either but I have owned about 12 different pairs of Logans over the years and really like thos...
Opinions about Kharma Speakers
Very good speakers!! Beautiful integration of drivers. Crossover is one of the best I have heard. Fit and finish is outstanding. No we don't sell them.
Anyone heard new Mach II versions of Acoustic Zen?
I was referring to the interconnects. We have been "cooking" the speaker cables and will be doing a listening session this weekend with 5 of my customers. These guy have ears like a dog:)
Anyone heard new Mach II versions of Acoustic Zen?
The version II has more midbass but a tad less air. Depends on the system as to which one is best. Very good though. Huge improvement over the cables I auditioned a year ago.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much Clueless. The links to the sites were fantastic. Educational and well written. I will have to print them so I can really go through them. Thanks again
Need Inexpensive shipping material
The above mentioned stores will have the products. Buy bubble wrap. It is by far and away the safest way we have found to ship.
Is there an integrated amp that can beat my...
I would agree that the YBA would be tough to beat. Also the Goldmund Integrated would be a top contendor. I don't sell either by the way.
Cables other than MIT with Spectral
I believe Goldmund recommends the same thing. Flex is right on the money. I have owned quite a bit of Golmund gear and Spectral including some Damien and Crosby modified gear a long time ago and was always told to use their cable or MIT. In fact I...

Bi Amping... worth it?
Yes I was referring to passive bi-amping. You will need same amplifiers or matched output gain as you suggested you have. With active bi-amping (more expensive) you will need an additional crossover but this will allow use of mismatched amplifiers...
Martin Logan, thinking of upgrading HT speakers??
Are you more into the audio or video end of home theater? If more the visual side I would get a new projector since your audio is pretty darn good.
Bi Amping... worth it?
Yes! It really does make a big difference. Gain matched means that the output of both amplifiers is equal. This way you don't have to worry about an imbalance of power to one driver over the other. Should hear improved sounstage in all aspects. Us...
CD Care
I agree. Also remember to wipe disc dry from center out in a straight line. Do not dry in a circular motion. Mapleshade also sells some real cool stuff called Optrix. Works well. I use that with my trusty little green pen:)
