Try a different interconnect and see if it still does it.
AA Capitole Mk II - what the evaluaions brought?
If I'm not mistaken, the Supratek is also a transformer coupled pre amp is it not?
Upsampling the way to go? ?
I used to feel that way also. If you are ever in the area bring your DCS over and we can have some fun.:)
Hum problem
First of all I don't believe the Monster is up to level of your equipment and probably doing more harm than good. Reduced dynamics etc. Secondly; as Rwwear stated, try floating one of the grounds with a inexpensive ground lifter you can buy just a...
Upsampling the way to go? ?
Audio Note as well as 47 Labs etc also disagree. After extensive listening here I prefer no upsampling. That is my humble opinion. (as well as many customers who have come over armed with every DAC imaginable).Others will of course have different ...
Aloia amp question, re: bridging
Excuse my ignorance. I wasn't aware that all stereo amplifiers could be bridged into mono-blocks without some kind of after market modification. Live and learn I always say.
Aloia amp question, re: bridging
No. They cannot be made into mono's. They can be bi-amped though (one amp to run the highs and one for the bass). This helps a lot. The Talons really do like power though. I have had both and I wouldn't go that way. You might consider the new larg...
Which speakers work close to back wall?
Audio Note speakers are designed to be placed in a corner or 2-6" from back wall. I prefer tham out a little farther than spec. as I prefer a little more depth. 95 db efficent. Sound glorious also. Find a dealer near you and listen. They are incre...
AA Capitole Mk II - what the evaluaions brought?
Passive is better than many preamps on the market if EVERYTHING is optimal for it's use. I would have agreed about no line stage needed until I heard the Audio Note. Transformer coupled (8 transformers) Black Gate, tantulum film resistors etc. NOT...
How to keep housemates from using your rig?
I would venture to say that the soultion you have suggested will probably make your system sound so bad you won't care if they blow it up.
Any problems using biwire cbls on single post Spkr
There is no problem at all. Hook them up and enjoy. Clean the spades periodically for best results.
Need help : Single ended, Low power, SET amps..
A very good article regarding single ended amplifiers was written by Peter Qvortrup of Audio Note. Go to www.audionote.co.uk and click technical on home page. There are two very interesting articles. Of course solid state lovers will surely disagr...
Use a gDVD/CD player as transport with a good DAC?
We have done this with MANY other brand also. This was just an example I gave. Was trying to answer his question not get into a debate. This was my as well as many of my customers opinions based on MANY shootouts we have done here. You obviously h...
Use a gDVD/CD player as transport with a good DAC?
The comparison was done with transports and DAC's from all the same manufacturer. So compatibility issues are not an issue. If you would like me to state the models we used I would be happy to provide them. I thought I was pretty careful in statin...
Use a gDVD/CD player as transport with a good DAC?
I maintain after trying many transports. Many of the differences we heard were with the transports with better power supplies. The DAC I use is the DAC 5 Signature from Audionote. At $49,500 it is awesome. As good as it is I hear huge differences ...
