Cheap tweaks...What would YOU reccomend? Try some DH Squares under the spikes of your speakers. Only $10 each and make a HUGE difference. Tightens up bass and imaging. Hard to believe how much of an improvement they make for a small amount of money.
interconnect suggests under 300 used. Check out a cable called Supra from Jenving technology. Sweden. Just auditioned it. VERY GOOD! especially for the price. Around $150-$ 175 for interconnects. www.jenving.seSee if a dealer near you will let you audition it. Better than many cables ...
Effective Burn-In methods for new CD Player Purist Audio System Enhancer. 72 minutes long. Run twice then play music on repeat for a hundred hours. Do the disc one more time a little more music and wow!
Virtual Dynamics Recall Per Viggen all of you should never buy or sell any used tube equipment. While I disagree as emphatically as possible. I guess I should change my mind and agree with him since I am a dealer who sells new tube equipment. Alas, I can't though because...
Best used 2 channel preamp for 2500.00. Highly recommend a tube pre with solid state amplifiers.
Best used 2 channel preamp for 2500.00. It also has a line stage. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear about that. Also has a processor loop. 3 tube configuration. Phono stage is jus kind of a bonus for resale.
Best used 2 channel preamp for 2500.00. Find a Kora Eclipse. One with the upgraded power supply umbilical cord. VERY good with phono stage and remote. Also has balanced and single ended outs. Outboard power supply.
Use a gDVD/CD player as transport with a good DAC? Unfortunately, that transport combination will not do any really good DAC justice. We have domonstated time and time again how a better transport in most cases makes a more siginificant difference than moving up one or two grdes in DAC's> As an...
How about using a Denon AVR5800 with Martin Logans Agree:)
How about using a Denon AVR5800 with Martin Logans I still maintain you are not hearing what the Logans are truly capable of. Because they don't shut down does not mean it is a good match. And I'm not referring to the origianl CLS. They dropped to .75 ohms. I have had Sequel, Sequel II, Quest, Req...
How about using a Denon AVR5800 with Martin Logans Onkyo receivers actually are rated to be able to drive 4 ohm loads. Onkyo has much more current capability adn able to drive lower impedance load than Denon. Even my Yamaha will and is rated to drive 4ohm loads.
How about using a Denon AVR5800 with Martin Logans I stand corrected. I still maintain though that logans dip to around 1.5 to 2 ohms at about 20khz. If you call Martin Logan and ask them if a receiver rated at 6 ohm minimum load will "properly" drive their speakers to their maximum potential I th...
Transport - will it really make an improvement A good transport does do a better job of controling jitter although some of that jitter control is being handled at the DAC now on some machines. A good transport IMHO will allow you to hear more of what's on a cd. We actually hear things we didn'...
Transport - will it really make an improvement By the way Audionote does make a very good dedicated transport for $999 retail since I notice SFSOUNDS was looking for something in that price range.
Transport - will it really make an improvement The power supply of the transport is also EXTREMELY important. This is why we do power cord demonstrations on the transport. Look at the power supply of most units including the Audiomeca which is distributed in this country by Sanibel Sound a sub... |
