Eldartford - For the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto also check out the older mono recording on Testament of Leonid Kogan's performance. Not the greatest in terms of the recording itself (tape hiss), but a wonderful and engaging performance nonetheles...
Headphone amps
I don't know about the matchup of my amp with the Seinheisser 600's, but my Berning Micro-ZOTL with Sony MDR-CD3000 cans is magic. Definitely check out HeadFi for all your headphone questions. Marco
Help with what's wrong with my 300b amp?
You did not mention, but were you changing power tubes at the time? Did you remove one of the 300B tubes and replace it? If so, some of the less thoughtfully designed tube outlets allow you to plug in the larger 4-pin tubes in the wrong orientatio...

Rachel - We saw Vengerov perform the Ysae sonata's at Beneroya...ASTOUNDING! His EMI recording of those works is very much worth a listen. Along with Hillary Hahn, I'd suggest another outstanding young up-and-coming violinist: Lara St. John. Her B...
What about a product can irritate you?
Plastic wood! Any poor design choice. Regarding you cables - try using a hair dryer to straigten them out (assuming they have a vinyl casiing). Should do the trick.Marco
Dead Can Dance's Into the Labyrinth
Absolutely on the Baraka soundtrack, and the film itself! Just wonderful! My extra copy of Lotus Eaters has sold (thanks Rich), so please no more emails.Marco
Jolida 707A vs. Wright 3.5's
The pair you may be ready to buy (or have already bought) may be my old ones if they are currently on the Gon'. I cannot comment about the Jolida other than they make great bang-for-buck components, several of which I've enjoyed very much over the...
Players made in U.S.A.?
Muse is made in CA, though I'm sure they outsource their transports. You can find used examples for around a grand. I use a model two plus and it's remained a standard for me as a Redbook player for many years. Tried a model nine, but actually pre...
CD player - skips and static pops ... related?
I wonder about using alchohol to clean a CD lens. Couldn't that leave streaks? If you smear some alchohol with a soft fabric over a glass or plastic surface you will sometimes observe streaking once it evaporates. I'd also question using Q-tips. I...
Anyone else feel left out?

Anyone else feel left out?
Rsbeck has a nice plan and fine recommendations. I'll give you an alternate (and there are many) should you want to stick with tangible discs for playback. I'd juggle your budget a bit differently than you laid out and stick to used gear.Jolida JD...
Who's got the best user name?
What about "Bigpowerballs"....Hooooyaaa Albert, there's a live one to include in your Audiogon Epic! Marco
Older PURE CLASS-A Amplifiers
Look for a Bedini 25/25. They go for around $450-600 on the used market. John Bedini also will rebuild them for around $400. Lucious midrange! Your speakers will need to be at least 89db efficiency if you want to listen at higher volume.Marco
Dead Can Dance's Into the Labyrinth
For you Dead Can Dance fans, and those who may be interested in an interesting introduction, I have a brand spanking new copy of Lotus Eaters still in shrink wrap (already mentioned on this thread). I have a dublicate copy and this one was gifted ...
know of a great audio test CD?
Had the pleasure recently to meet fellow A'goner Woodsage. He brought over two manufacturer "Test" disks with some outstanding musical selections. Not to be confused with the same "test" CD's Joe seems to be asking about these just had some wonder...
