Michael Aday (Metloaf) has passed away. My Meatloaf story: about 20 years ago I was in the Stamford Connecticut Town Center mall when I spotted Meatloaf with wife and two young daughters. I was very tempted to go up and ask for an autograph but decided not too! I didn't want to bug him ...
Power Cord recommendations for a First Watt SIT3 +1 jjss49! Power cords, power conditioners and fuses are nothing but Flat Earth Science - and I might add - so are footers!
dumb down an LP-12 The LP12 is not even an original design. It is a copy of the Ariston RD11. In fact early LP12 production was at the Ariston factory in Dunlopwestayre, Scotland before Ivor Tiefenbrun set up his own works. Besides the LP12 I have the Ariston RD11 i...
dumb down an LP-12 "Linn Certified Mechanic" - LOL! I am now onto my second LP12. Set up is just adjusting the springs for a nice bounce. It only has to be done when changing arms . Fifteen - twenty minutes work. I do it myself. No need for a "specialist". The LP12...
What are some of your favorite "COLD" songs? Cryotheraphy! What is that? A Russian KGB torture chamber?

Cambridge Azur 851A Problem! Help!! A $6 part and a few minutes with a soldering iron.
Audio Research Refernce 75se +1 hififan! Loose laminations will cause buzzing. Can't be fixed! Loose mounting screws are any easy fix! The OP should take the cover off and check for this. Otherwise pass because ARC will want way too much for a new transformer.
Cambridge Azur 851A Problem! Help!! It might need a new toggle switch. An easy and not expensive repair!
I need help describing the sound of a SET to a friend in English. One of my single-end amps is the Golden Tube SE40. It uses three 6L6 beam tetrodes in parallel per channel. About 24 watts per channel. Rather a heavyweight among single-end tube amps! A lot more useful than the typical 2A3/300B amps! Plus the par...
Audio Research Refernce 75se Transformer buzz! If it's not too obtrusive you can live with it! ARC might charge a lot for a new transformer. |
