Audio Dealers in Greater Portland OR Area
Echo is really great. A lot of quality used and some new. One of the few you can audition the Modwrights. Kurt is outstanding, one of the best.Audio Gallery as mentioned also one of the best.Personally, Freds Sound of Music the absolute worst expe...
Amp for Vandy 3A?
I'm using the Modwright SWLP into Channel Islqnds D200's and love that combination into my 3 sigs. I used to use a McCormack 1 RevA but the CI's were a revelation in clarity and resolution. The Vandies tend a bit to the warm side but with these an...

Best way I know of to alleviate mine is to listen to music!
Class-D amps - a different re view
I haven't read the review or the system he used to evaluate the amps. But I would guess a reviewer would use as revealing as possible setup. In my limited experience, I'm not so sure that would be the best for evaluating Class D amps. If anything,...
Neuance platform / PS audio UO
I saw a thread over at the asylum where he responds. Basically, fire damage and personal health has sidelined the business. Hopefully, he'll be back. It's a great isolation shelf and he's one of the good guys in the audio world.
Upgrade from Scout to Scoutmaster-how did it go?
Think of the upgrade as a sort of lawaway plan but you get to play as you pay in installments.I figure I've still come out ahead getting some upgrades used and some discounted, and selling to people climbing the ladder below.
Name a couple of HOLY GRAIL LPs
Try this again.. half my post was omitted.I really like Low 'Trust' The Low LP has an incredibly deep and delicate soundstage. And most anything by Tom Waits but if I had to pick one, it would be Mule Variations.

The Low LP has an incredibly deep and delicate soundstage. I really like just about anything by Waits and his recordings are really amazing.
Upgrade from Scout to Scoutmaster-how did it go?
I agree with Mike. I think the platter is the most effective part of the Scout to Scoutmaster upgrade. You really don't lose VTA on the fly.. it's maybe not quite as easy but I've done it no problem. It's a knob easily turned at the base. Just hav...
DIY clock upgrade?
I've got a clock in my XA777ES. With the Audiomod, you don't have to have the power supply. Mine was installed by Modwright. There's definitely enough room. The frequency is around 11mhz. I decided to not get the power supply based on reviews at P...
ModWright Phono
One thing you should do is swap the stock 5AR4 for a Blackburn Mullard or a metal base Dutch made rectifier, if you haven't already. That will warm it up some. Also, unless you burned it in or it's used, it's nowhere near broken in. Takes at least...

VPI new Super Feet for Scout/Scoutmaster/Aries
Don't really know.. I'm guessing still the motors. You have 2 on that one, plus the flywheel. Have you tried taking the DH Squares out now that you have the feet? Not that you'd leave it that way, but would reveal how much isolation can be attribu...
VPI new Super Feet for Scout/Scoutmaster/Aries
One thing I should have mentioned. I made a separate platform for my motor/flywheel that floats above the Cloud 11. The Cloud 11 moves freely underneath the motor and the table is completely isolated from the motor. The feet would most likely have...
