oil change t/t
As some have said, the additives used in motor oil are really not conducive to use in bearings especially copper based. If you must use an automotive oil, then use gear or transmission oils. ATF should be fine, but truelly, for the duty of the bea...
Lube for turntable - What do you prefer?
I have found that the lubricant that I use in my trumpet to be good and musical to boot.
How to best isolate TT from vibration?
Try hanging it from the ceiling. I have and it works great.Bob P.
Embedded rumble... on LP's that is...
Nsgarch, that is correct, since rumble is at a higher frequency than infrasonic. Newbee, if you are happy using a second choice as your standard, then go ahead. Sort of like the difference between 'less' and 'fewer', one is correct in the proper c...

Newbee, speaking of roses, the proper term for 'subsonic' is infra sonic. Subsonic has to do with speed not frequency. And, a rumble filter will act as an infrasonic filter.Salut, Bob P.
Ok this will be a good thread.
So, Mr. T even a bad jazz combo listened to live can sound good if your mood is good? My experience is that a bad jazz combo would turn my mood from good to bad. Same with a bad sound system, some systems sound so bad that I feel sick.Bob P.
what is good sound ?
Mr T, your question is as unanswereable as the question 'What makes for good music' Is it the technical prowess of the musicians or personal taste as to the melody, harmony, rythm etc..
Tuntable not working with wood floors..Help
Hanging from the ceiling is not only a cost effective solution to your problem, but also a superb isolating technique. The only vibrations that get feed back into the turntable are airborne, but they do not couple very well with self/turntable uni...
Isoclean fuses: definitely worth it
Bob-bundus, it is quite clear to many people that the earth is flat and they don't care what the textbooks may say. Just because the "model" that you have in your mind is clear and "explains" what you percieve, doesn't make it correct. If you perc...
Isoclean fuses: definitely worth it
Sorry Bob Bundas but power doesn't flow, but is a concept to describe how much power is consumed in the load. P=VxA. We know that the current reverses itself according to its frequency, but the power consumed in the load is a function of the curre...
Replacement Fuse's - What are my options ????
TBG, if the current doesn't know how many times per second it reverses, how does it distinguish the direction that the fuse is installed for it to be affected by that direction?Bob P.
Replacement Fuse's - What are my options ????
Do the European fuses work as well on 60 Hz power supplies, seeing as they are designed for 50 Hz? This question is probably less silly than if the direction of the fuse is important.Bob P.
To cryo or not to cryo
But how many people (videophiles?)"cryo" the PC on that same TV and then claim that the picture is better?Bob P.
To cryo or not to cryo
Rrcpa, please don't confuse things with facts!Everybody knows that metalurgists can't hear. Perhaps, however, they can shoot.Bob P
Isoclean fuses: definitely worth it
Greg7, in what direction does current flow in AC currents? Or, what does polarity have do do with installing fuses?Respectfully, Bob P.
