Should an amp have a "personality"?
Anyway, you'll figure it out. I was saying it as if I were one of those Germans because they believe in this utopia.
Should an amp have a "personality"?
It is also possible that you might prefer tube amp. I do too, I don't have one because I would want a great one and that is big expenses.
Should an amp have a "personality"?
I never use this word when it comes to sound. Anyway, the sound should be natural enough and engaging. Some of those German audiophiles and a few others in their quest for the 'neutral' sound get  the sound that is sterile and lacks many colors an...
Should an amp have a "personality"?
Incorrect part was assuming that it might not have one. That is impossible, at least from my point of view.
Should an amp have a "personality"?
Something is lacking in your amp or amp/speakers unit or the entire chain. The sound you get is not 'neutral', it is boring. Sound that is true to the recording will not be boring, it will be engaging in a right way. This is not to say that engagi...
referencing vs plug & play
I always match the quantum signatures of all the pieces in the chain.I both blame the recordings and know how to get the most out of them. I can hear the difference in sound with and without one week's dust on top of my speakers. When Michael is a...
Power - where to start? Mains, chords, conditioner, filter?
I was actually thinking about trying that marine battery arrangement but decided not to put it in the living room.Maybe you should start a separate more specific thread about batteries, someone who tried might respond. But batteries are not complet...
Death of Rock 'n' Roll
I exaggerated a little regarding jazz. It is quite a broad and diverse gender. I used to listen to a lot of it. No, sometimes one or two is enough to play a song. Miles Davis and John McLaughlin proved that.

Yeah. I talked to him couple of times thru emails, his reply was very friendly and so detailed that at some point I couldn't continue following him because he was getting into chemistry. He was also very straightforward. We can't really talk much h...

For a man with a suppressed ego you are quite bold, maybe you underestimate yourself. Anyway, please don't get personal. And you don't have a pro deck, maybe you should get one ? Just get a nice Studer and you will know the difference.

After this thread just go read about guys comparing $10k cartridges and saying that they all sound quite different. Of course, they all sound different, it is different colorations. None of those cartridges sound right, that should be the point. T...
Death of Rock 'n' Roll
Better listen to Malmsteen. Most is not particularly good but at his best he is great.Well, Demon's Eye and Highway Star by Deep Purple are not bad, only if they could play and sing. Nice tunes, though.
Death of Rock 'n' Roll
Yet we are still alive and that's more important. I only like Pink Floyd, anyway, some of it. Most of rock is just dancing/boozing/etc.Jazz is noise, blues is good.

I heard some people use marine batteries for that not auto batteries.

LAST is easily bought directly from thelastfactory.com or from needledoctor.com and some others too, I think, like elusivedisc.com and musicdirect.com. I usually buy directly from Walter - he makes more money this way, price is always the same eve...
